Popcorn Popping?

Not so much on the apricot tree as on my kitchen floor. Today, while I was making dinner and cleaning the kitchen (yes, believe it or not I do do both occasionally) I saw Jacob crawl under the table. Of course I didn't think anything of it, but then, a few minutes went by and I hadn't seen him move or crawl out so I bent down to find the funniest thing. Jacob had found a bowl of popcorn under the table and was helping himself to a snack! It just struck me as so funny I started laughing. I had no idea it was down there, nor do I know how it even got there! But at least I can take comfort in knowing that the popcorn was only a day old.  =)

And of course, as soon as I brought the camera out, Savannah had to make sure I took her picture as well... and Joseph just followed Savannah.

(Sigh) Would you believe I had actually cleaned my floors just two days ago?

Weekend Update

Sorry I'm a little slow at updating the weekend. So here we go. Friday, I finally did it. I used the clippers to give Jacob a haircut. Not just a little trim, but a real haircut.

His "before" pictures... LOL, he woke up extra early that day so he feel  asleep while eating breakfast.

And a bunch of hair later... Voila! I was sad to see his fluffy head go, but I think he looks so dang cute with his new army look.

You know, I kind of always figured Jacob looked like Luke but after giving him his hair cut it struck me how much he looks like my older brothers! Which means he takes after my moms side of the family.

Saturday morning we took the kids down to the Falls to feed the ducks. As you can see, it is right across from the Temple.

Can you tell I'm holding onto Joseph's arm? He kept wanting to run off to the water.

The kids LOVED feeding the ducks! We when we ran out of bread Savannah says to me, "Mom, the ducks are sad because we are out of bread! We need to come back and bring them more!"

There was a couple walking with these huge dogs! One of them was a St. Bernard and the boys just LOVED them! They weren't  a bit afraid! Actually, its the small yappy dogs that scare my kids.

Boy, you can really tell my waistline has really expanded in this picture!

Well, I have no cool stories to tell this time. Nothing outside of the usual yelling, fighting, screaming, pushing, spilled drinks, food thrown across the room, couch being taken apart 10 times a day, toys thrown off the balcony... nothing out of the ordinary!

Kids Say the Darndest Things!

Sometimes you just gotta wonder, where on earth do kids get some of their sayings? Savannah just cracks me up with all of her crazy sayings. Here is just a sample:

"My ideas are fired!"
"My knee hurts and my brain hurts; I need a treat to make me feel better."
"Mom, turn off that music that song is getting stuck in my head!" Joseph then says patting the top of his head, "Yup, right here!"
"Mom, you can get me a drink of milk, that's the deal!"
"Mom, its my job now to tell Joseph and Jacob no no! Because I'm a big girl and that's my job, not yours."

(sigh) How in the world did I give birth to a 13 year old? We also had some new neighbors move into our four-plex and they have a little girl who is about a month older that Savannah. They LOVE to play together and they always play at her house because they have all the cool toys that my kids don't have. And I do have to say, some of their toys really are neat. I have to rip Joseph away from them every time! Anyway, after seeing all these cool toys Savannah has started a list (which she told me I have to write down so I don't forget) a list of things that she wants... and I have no clue where she is getting some of this stuff! This is her list so far:

Slinky
Little Tea Set (those tiny porcelain ones)
Dora Bag (I have no idea what she's talking about especially since my kids never watch Dora)
Telescope (what the?)
Video camera (boy does she had expensive taste!)
Map (again, what the?)
Soft Dress
Baby Doll

I wonder if kids have a sixth sense that lets them know when their birthdays are starting to get close. She says she wants them for her birthday and that I also have to send it to Santa. I'm sure she will add more to her list before long. (sigh) I guess she is 3 going on 13!

What to do with a Diva?

Oh my, what can you do? I came across these videos that I had taken a couple weeks ago. Savannah really is quite the diva. You will have to watch all three videos to fully appreciate what I mean, but one things for sure, the boys are NOT allowed in her lime light and she lets them know that! Its funny, she not huge into princess stuff or dressing up or anything like that, but when it comes to the camera, she sure does like looking at herself! Almost everyday she asks to look at pictures of herself on my computer. What a little peacock! =) She's cute though and I love her to pieces!

Just trying to give Joseph his moment in the spotlight... well, trying is the operative word here!

Jacob doesn't stand a chance.

Tagged

So, this is the second time I've been tagged. The first time (as dumb as this makes me sound) I had no idea what it meant! Sorry Jamie. And Heidi, I know I'm not following the rules exactly, sorry. Anyway, this tag is different than the last one but here I go!

Six Unimportant things about myself:

1. I have chicken pox scars on my forehead that my brother Caleb use to say were alien craters. For a long time I thought they stood out so badly that one time I tried filling them in with make-up. LOL! Now I hardly notice them.

2. I bought my first computer when I was 14 years old and my second when I was 18 years old. But I have never bought a car.

3. I hate seafood, except for clam chowder, I LOVE clam chowder!

4. I think baths are creepy. I love swimming and jacuzzis, even really big bathtubs are okay. But when it come to taking a bath in your own little bathtub, ew gross! Makes me shudder just thinking about it! I'm not sure why.

5. When I was 8 years old someone gave me a Barbie for my birthday. I was SO offended that they gave me this doll! Did they think I was a little kid or something! =) I never really liked dolls.

6. My two favorite Disney movies are "Beauty and the Beast" and "Treasure Planet" (I'm talking Disney, not Pixar)

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Treasure Planet, it is based on the book, "Treasure Island" but with a space twist. Here is a video clip from the movie. I LOVE this song!

Pass the Peanut Butter!

Today was peanut butter faddish day. I'm not sure why it was, it just was. I had put some peanut butter in a shake I made for the kids this morning. I left it out on the counter which I realized later was not my best idea. Savannah decided that she wanted to eat it with a spoon! But being the creative child she is, she thought she would do a little experimenting. She ran back to me with the most excited look on her face as she said, "mom, I had peanut butter and sugar!" Sure enough she had dipped her spoonful of peanut butter in the jar of sugar. Oh well, at least there was no mess. Then later, Joseph decided that he too wanted some peanut butter; however, he's not quite as clean. Since the peanut butter was almost gone he had to stick his whole arm into the jar!

"Anyone can be a Father...

...but it takes someone special to be a daddy." Luke is a great daddy and the kids just adore him! Last night the kids got to stay up an hour past bedtime because we were having so much fun playing with them!
Daddy was hitting balls down the hallway to Joseph and while he was doing that Jacob came over and plopped down into his lap and just watched. But you have to picture this. Jacob has this thing were when he is going to sit down he walks up to the spot, turns around, and he slowly walks backward until he hits the spot, then he sits down! I think he needs one of those little beepers to tell him when he's close to his target.

I never cease to be amazed at Jacob's big eyes! What a good looking kid! Oh ya, I do good work!

Every night, if the kids are good during prayer the get a horsey ride back to bed. The kids just LOVE it! Poor daddy, I don't know if there will be room for four little bums! This is probably why whenever Jacob is on the floor Joseph jumps on him and starts yelling, "horsey ride! go horsey!" Jacob does not like it at all!

This video is from Saturday night. We were trying to put the kids to bed but they were SO wired! LOL, this video just makes me laugh! If you look real close you can see on the top of Joseph's head he has a little pony tail. He had found a hair band and brought it to me then said, "hair!" So I put it in his hair and he gets this huge smile on his face and he pats his chest and says, "me princess!" With his little lisp it just sounds SO funny! He loves princesses, especially being one! He also won't ever say his name. If you ask him to say "Joseph" he just says, "me!" If you show him a picture of the Prophet Joseph Smith and ask him, who is this? He says," Me Smith" as he points to himself.

Two things happened yesterday to Luke that was just so funny to me! At dinner time Luke was getting Savannah a drink of milk. As he went to put the lid on he accidentally knocked the whole cup over and made quite the mess. I know I shouldn't have, but I just burst out laughing. Luke, mister neat freak, mister perfectionist! I couldn't help it! And then after dinner we took the kids outside for a little while and as we were getting ready, Luke had picked Jacob up and was playing with him when Jacob burped and spit up all over Luke! Again, I just started laughing. LOL, I'm actually laughing just thinking about it! Maybe you all are wondering why I thought these incidences were so funny. I guess sometimes its just nice to see the daddy be the mommy, even for a moment! =)

5 Years!

Happy Anniversary to us! I can't believe Luke and I have been married 5 years! Time really does fly! As I was looking over our wedding pictures its seems like I look pretty much the same, but I think Luke looks really young!

Luke proposing at New Symrna Beach, FL

(sigh) This is one of those sad cases where the groom looked better than the bride. I did my own hair, which was a very, very bad idea, my dress didn't fit thanks to an unforeseen side effect of birth control, I forgot to get a veil, I even forgot shoes! LOL, I remember standing in the garage at my house getting ready to drive to the temple when I realized this! I looked down and there in the garage was a pair of white platform shoes. I thought, perfect! So I grabbed them and jumped in the car. And of course, true to Florida weather, it rained and rained which didn't help my hair situation at all. And all of our temple pictures are taken under the overhang. LOL, oh well!

Okay, so this video clip is really bad quality. Its actually a video of a video. The original was just to large to upload so I took a video of just part of it so I could have a smaller file. Again, sorry about the quality.

I love my family!

June 19, 2008

Oh, one of THOSE days!

Now now, that doesn't mean it was a bad day, it was just one of THOSE days. I probably should have seen the writing on the wall when Jacob woke up extra early. Since I was still trying to get into the "get up and get going" mode, I was a little slow. Jacob was into the toilet paper before I even had my shower! Okay, before I had even changed him out of his jammies, or rather the clothes he slept in. Just before I took this picture he was actually holding the whole roll and was trying to take a bite out of it.

Then when Savannah got up she said, "mom I need to show you something". So she takes me into their room and points to Joseph's crib. It was a nice bright smelly red. Joseph a thrown up in the middle of the night! I had mixed some Crystal Light into the juice to make it last longer and, as you know, it has quite the dye in it. So, all that Crystal Light Joseph drank was now splattered all over the wall, the crib bars, and of course, his sheets. The poor little tooth fairy bear didn't stand a chance. I don't know if he will ever be allowed back into Toothland!

Oh wait, this is the best part. A little later I went grocery shopping. Since the kids like to unload the cart at check out we are a bit slow. Anyway, the guy ringing us up was almost done when I went into my wallet to get my debit card. All of a sudden I remembered my cards were on my desk at home because Savannah had pulled them out of my wallet earlier. I felt so dumb! I had no other way of paying so I asked if it would be okay if I ran home to grab my card. Luckily we live just across the street from the store. So, I ran the kids to the car, threw them in, raced home, grabbed my card, raced back to the store, threw the kids back into a cart and wheeled back into the store to pick up my giant cart full of groceries. Wow, what a workout! Then I was making a salad for a work BBQ we went to tonight when I realized I was missing one very important ingredient. As you can imagine I had no intention of going back to the store so I had to improvise. But it turned out just fine.
Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Oh, good news, I was able to wash the tooth fairy bear back to its old self, yea!

Blogging can be Eggs-tremely Hazardous to your Health

Holy smokes! I wish I never touched this thing! I was starting to think that my blog was getting too crowded and confusing so I thought that if I made it three columns that would help. After I did that I decided it looked way too busy, I didn't like it, so I put it back to two columns. In the process I lost all my links and stuff so now I have to add them all back on. What a pain! And after all that, and trying a million backgrounds I STILL don't know if I like the change. Do you think it looks to busy? I can't decide if I should keep it or put it back to what it was before. Vote, change it or leave it?  Anyway, it may take me a bit to add everyone's blogs back on, but I will, no worries. Man, its almost 1am and I am starving!

Now for the "eggs" part. I had been in the back here on my computer working (and no, not on my blog) when I realized I was hungry again, of course. So, as I made my way to the kitchen, I hear this very odd crunching noise. As I rounded the corner of the counter, I found Joseph plopped on the floor with the carton of eggs open and he was pushing on them until they broke and splattered. Nothing like a bright river of orange goo running through your kitchen. But this is not the first time he's done it either but since he doesn't care if he gets into trouble, he decided to do it again. One of these days I will just need to buy him a carton, stick him in the bathtub, and let him have at it! (sigh) What's a mommy to do? Here's what was left of the eggs.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

Well, I see no point in not making the official announcement since word is starting to spread. It is true, we are expecting Heiner Baby 4 and I have proof. Obviously the white blob inside the black blob is the baby.

Normally I don't go to see the Doctor until I am about half-way along just so I can find out if its a boy or a girl. But a couple weeks ago I had some pretty bad cramping and bleeding so I went to the Doctor to find out what was going on. Well, they have no idea what the bleeding was but obviously the baby is just fine. Savannah had me a bit nervous when she informed me that I had two babies in my tummy, her sister and a girl! But, as you can see, there is just one heartbeat.
I am almost 8 weeks along and my due date is January 30, 2009.
Well, morning sickness hit full force Thursday of last week. Yup, I remember to the day because it is hard to miss when you feel like you are on your death bed! Ugh and Bah Humbug is all I have to say about that! I suddenly remember why I hate being pregnant so much.
Still, despite the horrific nausea that I am dealing with, my appetite has tripled. I eat all day long and I eat in large amounts. Of course, every time I eat, I wish I hadn't cause I feel worse, but at the same time,  I can't stand to be hungry. Its a no win situation.  I have already out-grown my skinny clothes and am steadily moving up the size rack. Each time I get pregnant I promise myself that this time I am going to eat healthy and work out so I will be one fit, sexy mamma! And each time I am stricken down to my death bed with no ambition to do anything expect eat, and then wish I hadn't eaten it.
Well, on that happy note I wish to express how excited we are to have another baby! I mean it though, we are very excited. This baby will be the furthest apart from the others yet! Savannah and Joseph are 18.5 months apart, Joseph and Jacob are 14 months apart, now Jacob and Baby will be 21 months apart. Yup, its all craziness!
And I know what you Wymount women are thinking so, let's have it, lay it on me!

Over the River and Through the Woods

We spent Father's Day weekend at Luke's parents house. His entire family was also there with the exception of one brother and his family. The kids had tons of fun with their cousins and the four-wheelers. The weather was perfect so we spent a lot of time outside.

Here's goofy Uncle Lane taking some of the kids for a ride on his blue baby.

Every time we visit Star Valley and Luke spends the day working or helping out with stuff around the farm he seems to be completely in his element.

One of the kids favorite thing to do is ride in the train. The guys have to take turns driving because the kids want to ride in it so long.

Some of the guys were going to go on a four-wheeler ride and a couple of us girls insisted we were going too. Everyone had their own ride except Luke and I had to double up. But, it was so fun because he actually let me drive it all the way to the top of the mountain! It was awesome. While I would never want to live in Star Valley because the winters are so bad, I have to admit that the summers are amazing.

Luke's twin brothers rode their dirt bikes. And of course they are always going off riding up some crazy hill. Here's Brock riding up one of the hills. I told them I thought they were crazy and they just looked at me like I had just said the silliest thing. They were quick to inform me that this was the easy hill, the baby hill.

Here we are at the top of the mountain. The wind was so strong! It felt like it could just lift you up and carry you away. Like Luke's wolverine hair? At least he got a hair cut later that night.

Gee, can't tell that the boys are all Heiners, can you?

Hail the conqueror!

There was still quite a bit of snow at the top of the mountain so I let Luke drive down. Going up hill in the snow is one thing, down, that's another.

There was a little calf born and Joseph just loved that thing. He disappeared at one point and I found him here, with the calf. Poor thing, Joseph kept pushing its head down telling it to go to sleep every time it tried to lift its head up and then he would pull on its ears and tail.

So, Saturday was a blast. But Saturday night? not so much. I had just climbed into bed a little after 11pm when Joseph woke up crying and would not stop. So, I handed him off to Luke because he woke up Jacob, who was now crying. We finally got both boys back to sleep around 3am. There is no need to go into detail about how 4 hours of screaming children can put you on edge. Anyway, the next morning it was clear that Jacob was sick and since Joseph was still asleep, we kept the boys home from church..
We got home last night about midnight then about 3am Joseph started crying and coughing. At first it just seemed like it was in my dream. When I finally woke up of course I went in to check on him and when I did he really scared me. He breathing was raspy and shallow, and seemed really forced. His cough sounded like a seal bark so I brought him into our room where he settled down and his breathing became a little more normal but still kind of shallow. Not knowing what else to do I put a big pot of water on the stove and just let it boil, like a home made humidifier. After an hour or so, his breathing was once again normal and after another hour he fell asleep again. Whew, what a night!

Quantity, not Quality

Why do you suppose kids do everything in bulk? Its like they have this never ending need to do things on a grand scale, maybe because they are so small. I should probably count my blessings that the kids messes (for the most part) are made in quantity and not quality. My sister-in-law told me a story about how one of her boys brought in the hose from the back yard and flooded their living room and another time he decided to decorate the entire kitchen with butter. So my kids messes are not quite the same quality.
I guess kids are just curious? Maybe they just want to know what it would be like if...... I suppose the entire big Sam's Club bag of gold fish poured out onto the floor was probably just a need to explore the sport of fishing? Or our giant bucket of mini foam dinosaur stickers poured all over the kitchen floor was simply a way to see what it must have been like to live with dinosaurs? Or the big container of straws that was emptied and half of them chewed on was simply to discover if the different colors meant different flavors? And perhaps, when every single bucket or box or container of any sort holding toys has been emptied in the closet (and no, I am not exaggerating) it is just a way to keep mommy from being able to reach the clothes so the kids could run around naked all day? Who knows? They are pretty clever!

Well, yesterday was Luke's birthday, he turned 28 years old! I had all these grand plans for how it was all going to go down. I guess there is not much need to go into great detail about the day, but lets just say my plans didn't quite work out. When Luke came home from work the house was not sparkly clean like it was suppose to be, quite the opposite actually. I guess I did manage to start one load of dishes in the dishwasher before he came home! I didn't have a nice dinner made, we ended up eating grilled cheese sandwiches, and we never got around to eating the yummy ice cream cake I made. (sigh) The kids were SO grumpy ALL day long! They pretty much spent the whole day fighting and making messes. I don't know how to quite emphasize the "so" and "all" part. Of course, it did rain and snow yesterday so I guess I can't blame them. But lets just say, when we finally got the kids to bed, Luke and I just plopped ourselves down on the couch and stared at each other for a long time. We had been totally defeated by our tiny toddlers. It amazing how they can do that! I felt really bad his birthday was a disaster.
Well, I tried to make up for it today. I actually cleaned the house and made dinner, and we even ate the ice cream cake. Better late than never I guess!

Jacob really enjoyed one of the cupcakes I made to take over to Luke at work.

Our camera was going haywire again. Anyway, I couldn't find the candles so Luke got to blow out Jacob's birthday candle. Luke got to turn 1! Hmmm, looks a little old for his age.

And of course, Savannah singing happy birthday to daddy!

Strawberry Happiness

Joseph's getting pretty quick in the kitchen these days. If I don't keep a close watch on him he just pushes a chair over to the counter and helps himself to whatever he wants. I have caught him a few times with a knife trying get himself a slice of cheese or to cut up fruit, or something. Gives me a heart attack! No wonder mom's go gray so fast! He has also taken to opening the fridge and pulling out the big juice pitcher so he can get a drink. So far no major disasters on that end, (I know, I know, sorry to disappoint everyone) but I am constantly having to wipe up little spills.
But today, the strawberries were on the counter because the boys had been chowing them down all day. But I guess that wasn't enough and Joseph was ready for another one. So he pushed his chair over to the counter and got a strawberry for himself and one for Jacob who was begging down below. The pictures don't do it justice but it was so funny and so cute to see these two monkeys sitting on the kitchen floor together scarfing down their strawberries and laughing as though they had just done something terribly clever.

And despite all the minor catastrophes that have been going on around here, I was finally able to finish the last drawing for the Primary 2008 collection! Yea! Go me! Go me! Its hard to draw during the day since there are so many distractions so I do most of my drawing after the kids are in bed. Anyway, let me know what you think of them!

The Dress

So, here's the infamous red dress that was discussed in the last post. After wearing it all day today I have decided that I love it and I'm glad I got it. Dresses aren't particularly flattering on me, but I like this style.
And, wow, I really do look like a teenager still, especially in these pictures! No wonder people always stare at me when I'm out with my kids, they're probably trying to figure out if I'm old enough to be their mother or if I'm their big sister!
