Savannah Moments
Last night when I glanced at the clock, it was much later than I had anticipated. With no time to make dinner, I emptied a package of frozen chicken nuggets onto a pan and loaded it into the oven.
As the kids were eating their well rounded, and deeply thought out dinner, Savannah looks at me with a huge grin."
"Mom, your cooking is AWESOME!"
Uh..................... Why yes, yes it is. Now, I slaved ALL day over those nuggets. So.... so you be sure to savor them, ya hear!
~~~
It was bedtime, but I kept Savannah up a few extra minutes to finish some piano homework.
Clearly not wanting to do it, she gave a big sigh and said, "Man, I'm exhausted!" Then pausing her work to look up at me she asked, "Mom? Do you even know what exhausted means?"
Well, let's see.
Had five kids in six years.
Nope, haven't a clue.
~~~
Everyone has a junk drawer or two in their house where they throw all their miscellaneous... whatever into.
Well, except for this one friend. I don't know how she does it, but she manages NOT to have a junk drawer.
I want to be like her when I grow up.
Anyway, I'm all for utilizing the junk drawer when needed. But I'm thinking I may need to remove Savannah's rights of usage.
You understand.
~~~
And last but not least.
Savannah: Mom? When are you going to have another baby?
Me: *blank stare* Say what?
Savannah: When are you going to have another baby!?
Me: *choke* Not for a while my dear... not for a while.
Savannah: Well next time, can you have two babies? No wait! I know! Three babies!! Yea, that would be awesome!!
I'm pretty sure I fainted after that.
14 super cool people speak:
We don't have a junk drawer, but thats only because my kitchen doesn't have any extra drawers!
And my kids keep asking for a baby sister. Um, not from the uterus. Sorry girls.
Never a dull moment.
You don't know anything about exhaustion, do you? I've never even heard of that word:)
"Three babies!!!" Yea, that would be awesome! Crazy talk. Crazy talk:)
I looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove you!:)Just love you:)
Oh, how I LOVE your blog! You always make me laugh...so thank you!
oh come on, after 5 kids, 3 more should be a breeze! :)
These are just classic. I love the slices of life at your house!
=)
3 more at once!!! Hehe! She's adorable! My 4 year old (I also have a 2 year old and expecting this winter) is always asking for me to "please have 20 girls and 6 boys. Or AT LEAST 6 boys and 6 girls. That would be SO COOL!" Yeah......
I can see that girl is full of wisdom, you're a lucky mom!
What a silly girl.
You better give that girl a great big stick for her 16th birthday... one she can use to beat off all the boys. She's gonna be a knockout!
Why not make it an even 4! I'm sure your uterus and belly could stretch that far! No problem! C-mon you could do it! ;) Crazy girl! Too funny about the gum! We have at LEAST two junk drawers in our kitchen...maybe more....okay ALOT more.....it just happens...Don't be ashamed! With five kids its a wonder EVERY drawer isn't a junk drawer! ;)
Cute little Savannah.
What a way to start my day! I can't stop...chuckling! SO FUNNY! LOVE that GIRL! LOVE YOU, too! (smile)
