After the last post about my awesome dad, would it be wrong of me to admit that I'm sitting here in my pajamas, unshowered, having just polished off a chocolate bar for breakfast... and lunch?
No pictures, too frightening.
My poor husband has been waking up early every day to meet the demands at work and I can't pull my lazy carcass out of bed so I can shower before my kids wake up.
I'm still deciding if waking up to put kids back to bed, or change leaky diapers three to four times every night is a valid excuse.
I know right, gosh Serene, suck it up girl and get your lazy bum to work!
But I don't wanna!
Is there such a thing as too much honesty?
29 super cool people speak:
I would kill for a lazy day right now!
No. And the only reason I'm showered this early in the day is because my dad came to visit last night and i couldn't let him see how lazy I really am, so I dragged my lazy butt out of bed and showered early this morning.
It's Lady Month at our house, so you are in good company!
HAHA! Too much honesty. Hmmm.
Let me think on that one.
If somebody in a store dressing room asks you how they look in a swimsuit they just tried on (Hint, the swimsuit is 2 sizes too small) AND they look like a beached whale, What do you say to that stranger?
do YOU tell them the honest truth?
"You look awful."
Or do you white lie a little.
I don't wanna go to work either. I like my PJ's too darn much! HMPH!
I find it ironic that with a newborn I can sleep for 7 hours straight, but before she was born I was soothing children with bad dreams 4 nights a week.
I think it's perfectly acceptable that you're eating chocolate for two meals and not showering. Seriously. It is JUST FINE.
WHen you have little kids, you are basically in survival mode. Whatever it takes. And waking up multiple times a night is brutal. It's why I got hooked on Dr. Pepper. Which I finally think I kicked. Maybe. You have to tailor your expectations to what is possible. ENd of soapbox.
What. You mean that's not normal. Everybody needs a "stinky" day once in a while.
Completely.and.totally.normal.
dont blame ya chicky.. i'm just glad i can still take morning naps with having only one child and then shower at midday during his second nap. ahhhh the life.
I'm sitting here at 11:30 am in my PJs, and I don't even have any kids to get up with at night.
How's that for honesty?
"/
I don't think there is such a thing as too much honesty in this situation because we allright which equals maybe a little comfort that your not alone. sorry that was a little cheesy!
I am in a daze today and re rad my comment I meant we ALL RELATE instead of we allright. I really need some sleep!
LOL, its okay, you're a mom! It's allowed.
I have those same thoughts all the time!! U read my mind! lol
Love it! Just remember that we ALL feel that way from time to time! It is ok to have a day (or even a week) like that. Don't be hard on yourself. You are amazing, you are doing the things that matter most, and you are going through a tough time on top of that. Give yourself permission to spend today how you want and need to.
No way, you make me feel good about the fact that I didn't do my hair for 3 days and that I tried to "hide" my overlarge boobs in a sweater with no bra.
I like honesty.
I appreciate it in others.
Good job blogging about what "normal" people go through. Hey, at least you ATE breakfast and lunch.....even if it was just chocolate.
I enjoy honesty. And realness. And TRUE crap. Ugly as it may be, I love reality!
have another chocolate bar
Well I am here in my dressing gown and I should be ready for work....I feel your pain! I'm having a lazy day off tommorrow..
Lazy? Are you kidding me!! You just got through entertaining company as well as tackling the basement...No easy feat my friend.
Thanks for being so honest can I come over in my PJ's and eat chocolate with you?? Pleaaaaseeeee!
I don't get out of my pajamas until nap time. I figure since the kids get me up at night, they get to deal with a stinky momma until they decide to go to sleep.
For some reason, they have been taking naps pretty early these days.
(I read your post from yesterday and I wanted to tell you thank you for updating all of us. I know that the experience must be hard for you and your family but your faith really inspires me.)
I ate a piece of cake for dinner. (It had eggs in it, I reason.) You totally deserve to stay in your pjs and have chocolate for breakfast. You really need to have more chocolate for lunch, though.
Without a doubt I give you a pass.
Don't worry about it. I have stayed in my PJ's for a week once. Though, I was then campaigning for - "Save Water" and taking a bath was a big NO! LOL
Have a good day...:)
I was up with Hunter because of a major thunderstorm for hours the other night. I'm STILL in my PJ's trying to catch up on some rest. I think PJ's and chocolate were invented for the sake of a mother's sanity. Plus it's still Mother's Day Week!
Shower before the kids wake up? My goal is to wake up before the kids (who beat me to it) completely destroy the house.
some days I sure wish us SAHM's got PTO. there are days that I would love to call in sick
I always thought...staying in one's pajamas...was simply being one step ahead...for bedtime!!! (smile)
You just described my usual Saturday :)
