I would just like to say that there's nothing that throws off your cleaning groove quite like discovering you washed a used pull-up in the washer with all your other clothes. It's amazing how well kids can hide those things in the leg of their pajamas.
Ever seen a kid go swimming in a regular diaper? Same thing was going on with the washed pull-up.
I didn't take a picture, figured I'd let you create your own mental image so as to obliterate all responsibility for the rise in birth control sales.
Your welcome.
23 super cool people speak:
Oh, how I wish I had to create a mental image from imagination and not personal memory!
What a mess! But at least they are little kids!...My grown-up (?) son came to our house and washed an entire pack of gum in his pants, which he ended up putting in the dryer as well.
You can imagine how lovely the inside of my dryer was. Sticky gum everywhere. The only thing that would take it off was peanut butter, and then I had to do several dryer loads of old towels to get all the peanut oils out of my dryer.
Is there such a thing as retroactive birth control?
;)
No need for a photo...I've seen it firsthand.
Oh goodness... I just gagged. And it wasn't from that V8 I just drank. I know that diaper in the wash moment all to well. Memories..all alone by my washer! (sing it with me)
HILARIOUS!!!!!!
Ya, you might want to be more vigilant about checking the pockets AND legs. Ick.
I have a cat that loves to sit in my washer (front load) scary!
We watch that closely.
I love reading your posts because you laugh at the things in motherhood that I used to cry over.
You're awesome.
Good times. Better than when my mom had to wash out USED diapers in the toilet that we stupid younger kids couldn't bring ourselves to wait for, so we'd just do our business on top of the dirty diaper soaking in the toilet. Ew. There is not enough money in the world to pay mothers.
When that happened to me, the thing exploded and we had "gel" bits (or whatever is inside those diapers) ALL over. It was one of the worst messes ever to clean. And one of the worst washer fiascos to occur in our household (right behind the time I accidently washed my husband's iPod - oops). That was the last straw for us and we switched to cloth diapers the next week. Now the diapers are SUPPOSE to go in the wash :)
Cloth diapers? *shudder* I'm not sure I'm that brave. I think between washing diapers and three cats, you are a better woman than me!
What's with jammie legs?! I washed and dried a whole load before discovering Isaac had about 7 crayons down in the foot of his jammies! It took some super solution of combining detergents to get the clothes 'mostly' clean!! Not to mention the crayon all over in the drier. Thank goodness for google so I could even figure out how to clean it. But man I think diapers would gag me!
Oy VAY! And then of course, you have to clean it out and wash the whole load all over again!
Maybe I'm glad we didn't have pull ups when my boys were little
Oh my goodness that is funny!
I hope the clothes got a second wash.
ewwwww!!! I can't even begin to tell you the feelings I felt when I read this! I have had the same experience! Not fun! I don't think that I will say thanks for sharing today!!! (Gotta love the fact the most of us can actually remember a similar incident, makes you feel not so alone in the grossness, right?)
Did it explode? Because I hate it when that happens. That stuff is impossible to clean up!
just threw up a little in my mouth, and only because I remember a time when that happened to me. one more reason to hate laundry!
Eeeeee-yew. I'm definitely opting for cloth. I'll handle cleaning the mess if it saves me THAT much money! Yeah, I'm a scroogette.
oh.my.gosh. NASTY!!! haha
NOOOOOOOOO!!! Seriously I'm laughing so hard because EXACTLY the same thing happened to me a month ago!!! I opened the washer and it took me a good 3 minutes to figure out what all that weird snow was and why it wasn't cold and HOW did it get in my washer!!! It was NAAAAAAAAAAASTY!!!
I, too, have seen it first hand. Glad to know I'm not the only one. You are just more brave and can post about it.
BTW, I'm giving you an award. Come on over to my blog to check it out.
I've that before and it was so gross!
NICE!
Haven't done that one yet, but enough crayons have "sneaked" into the dryer to ruin almost everyone's clothes in this house. But of course...we keep wearing them. Ugh!
OH my word! That's TOOOOOOOO funny!
