Baby oh Baby, what shall we call thee?

Do you ever notice how loud complete silence is?

It may be an oh so very rare occurrence around here, but on occasion when Hubby is out of town and I manage to survive bedtime routine with the kids and still have some dignity left, I'll plop down with said dignity like a sack of potatoes... no, like a bowl full of jelly... no, oh I don't know what. My brain is too darn shot to think of anything clever right now.

But I'll plop down to take a breather and everything is so quiet, that the utter stillness and silence is like a roaring in my ears.

It can be quite deafening.

I should probably take the time to sleep or do something useful, yet at the end of the day the last thing I have any desire to do is something productive or useful, that includes sleep.

Now that I'm down to the last two months of this pregnancy I can't sleep half the time anyway. Insomnia and back pain make terrible bedfellows you know.

Still, I have to laugh. Every time it's Joseph's turn to say the family prayer, he always asks that the baby will "come out soon". I'm trying really hard not to agree with that for another five to six weeks at least.

The kids are constantly asking if it's November yet, or if it's time for the baby to come out. They are even kind enough to mention that my belly is getting "pretty big"!

At almost 32 weeks now I had someone say to me just the other day that I don't look like I could go another two months.

Ouch. As if I didn't feel huge enough as it is!

Oh hey, I think you dropped something... no wait, that was just my self-esteem hitting the floor. LOL!

But anyway, this poor little guy still has no name. We can't seem to agree on one! My top pick right now is "Joshua". Not that I'm intentionally picking "J" names. Joseph and Jacob were not collaborated in any way. But don't they sound good with "Joshua"?

Besides, it will help keep everyone confused, even me.  Haha!

Hubby's hang-up with the name is that it's my oldest brother's name as well as his cousin's name. But at this point, I don't care! With so many dang boys on both sides of our family I've about given up on not over-lapping. And since we like more traditional names, options are getting limited.

Jacob really wants us to name him "Hunter".

Hubby did suggest "Jefferson", and the name has grown on me, but I'm not sure I'd want everyone shortening it to "Jeff", which I feel sure they would.

So, any thoughts? Any name suggestions? Because at this point, I am at a loss.

Maybe we should just call him "Guy".

What about Andrew?? I love that name. My cousin is Andrew and his parents made sure that that is what he was always called so he has never been Andy. Anyway, I've always loved that name. I also really like James!!

Haha! Some good friends of ours had a little girl named Claire, then we named our girl Claira!

They just had a little boy named Andrew and told us we need to name this little guy something close to that. :)

As for James, my brother and his wife just named their new little man James.

If you really want a "J" name, you can always look through the list of 19 Kids and Counting (TV show about a family who has 19 kids).
There's Josiah, John, Joshua, Jedidiah, Jeremiah, Jason, James, Justin, and Jackson...

I vote for Jonah or Joel or maybe Jared. Or if not a "J" name, maybe Noah?

Ummmm you look awesome at 32 weeks, just so you know!

Oooh, I actually really like Jefferson! My fried's brother's name is Jefferson, and I think he does get called Jeff sometimes, but somehow knowing it's short for Jefferson makes it sound better ;) Jonas is a pretty great name.. We love ours. A name we've thought about with each of our boys is Seth. You look great!

If you want a name close to Andrew, use Asher. My brothers name is Andrew, and my little boy is named Asher... you would be surprised how similar they are when you are trying to talk to both of them. When we skype with my brother, they become quite interchangeable;)

You look fabulous, Serene! Boys names are tough! I love biblical names personally. My 3 sons are Jonah, Gabriel, and Isaac. I also love the names Levi and Samuel. Hard decisions! Good luck!!

You need to name him Scott. He is going to come out smiling... be really mischievous...handsome and debonaire...LOYAL to a fault...Very Inventive...SMART and Practical...Athletic and Strong... A woodsy outdoors type... but most of all... he will absolutely have an undying love of his mother forever...

If you name him anything else all else will fail and I cannot guarantee any of the above attributes. Side Effects may differ and may range from You will rue the day to absolute hysteria.

LOL Luv Ya Luke and Sarah!!!

PS - if you name him Joshua Scott then maybe half of those good things ...

Mwah!

Go with Guy! Such a great name!

Hehe. I'm only *slightly* biased, because my Guy is one of the three best kids I know.

Haha! I am loving all the suggestions! Really!

Two of my brother-in-laws names are Joel and Jared, and I have nephews named Seth, Logan, and Samuel.

We have considered Jackson and even Noah.

Haha! Oh Scott! If I knew he'd grow up to be like you, we just might have to name him that!

Emily, I forgot you had a little man named "Guy"! One of my mom's really good friends was named "Guy".

Ugh... why is this so hard!?

Boy names are hard. I am a more traditional type of gal too. I have 4 boys and they are Bradley, Jason, Lucas and Jacob. I know you have a Jacob. Good Luck on the hunt. Jefferson is really cute, but I'm with you on him being called Jeff.
And by the way you look amazing at 32 weeks. I wish pregnancy was that kind to me.

You are worried about not having a name 8 weeks before he's due and I have 2 neighbors with babies already born 1 and 3 months old without names, still. You are doing awesome and look great.

Thank you Stacie!!

Sarbear, of my goodness. I so could NOT do that! Granted neither of my boys names were agreed upon until we were ready to leave the hospital, but they at least had a name when we left!

I would go crazy! Well, crazier than I already am. :)

As a writer, I spend a lot of time describing things. Honestly, for I do not like to "skate around the truth", as that phrase goes!! Now. Hugely pregnant? Or radiantly beautiful? Which twain words would I use to describe you, my Friend? I would definitely--and honestly!!--say that you're radiantly beautiful!! ;-D
Okay. This is fun!! As a single woman with no children, I love, love, love boy's names!! Plus, my sister-in-law keeps producing beautiful girls!! For a "J" name, how about Jeremy? That was what we were going to name my sister!! I personally like these names. Damon. Christopher. William. And, for Bible names. I love Moses!! I also like the name Noah. Good luck in deciding!! Story has it, my parents were flipping through a baby name book after I was born.... If memory serves me!! ;)
--Raelyn
PS. And Raelyn is not my real name!! Nope!! It's my secret identity, like Clark Kent is Superman!! ;-D

Hunter is a great name!!! If not Hunter, then how about Calvin?

You look awesome! I look like that at about 20 weeks. Good luck with names, boys were hard for us for some reason. I think I must just be super picky when I'm pregnant because now there are lots of boy names I like. If we had another boy my current favorite is Spencer. I also like Harrison, Garrett, Russell, and Clark but for various reasons could never use them.

If you have Joshuas in the fam already, how about Jacob Joshua and call him Jake?

Love that name, Jake.
