Jacob's Hot Girl

Jacob came tearing through the door after school yesterday with a huge grin on his face.

Jacob: "Mom! I got me a hot girl!"

Me: *blank stare, cricket chirping* "Say-a what who now?"

Jacob: "I got me a hot girl!"

Me: "A hot girl?"

Jacob: "Ya! Look I'll show you!"

I gingerly perch on the edge of the couch next to him, as though I was preparing to leap away from a fire.

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect here. He'll be six years old next month.

He reached into his backpack and pulled out a magazine. *gasp*

Relief came flooding when I read the title, "Parks and Recreation".

But relief was brief as I started wondering what "hot girl" he had found in the magazine.

I started biting my nails. Finally he found the page he was looking for and pointed to the picture.

Jacob: "See? A hot girl!"

I finally breathed.

Then laughed. Probably more than was necessary.

Oh blessed innocence.

Apparently shooting a bow makes you "hot". What you look like is totally irrelevant.

I suspect he's really going to like "Hunger Games" some day.

Did you miss me? {Okay, that was part of a Tony Stark/Iron Man line from "The Avengers". Very cocky and self-centered, actually!!} Well, as you have been preoccupied with Spring Break, I've appeared missing in action so to speak around everybody's Blogs lately. To complete my Secretive Writing Project. Well, I'm baaaack!! Did you miss me? Hee, hee, hee.... ;)

Ha! So funny. My 4 year old recently told me he is in love with a girl at school. Yeah, that was a shocker. It was "because her hair is yellow". The innocence is cute now, but I'm dreading when they get older and are in love for real! Love your blog. -Meredith
