Kiddy Kounsel - How do you pick what to be when you grow up?

Just so you know, I had every intention of writing this yesterday morning. But then Hubby decided to up and surprise me by staying home from work to spend time with me!

He was trying to unmadify me.

In case you don't know what that means, here's the definition.

Unmadify: To make that which was once mad, not mad anymore.

This impressive definition can be found in "Serene's Book of Made-Up Words".

Anyhow, it worked and life is happy again so we can get on with the good stuff.

Our question today comes from Tomi Ann of Being Perfectly Honest. Her question is:

How do you pick what to be when you grow up?

Jacob (age 5)
I don't know! But I will be Batman!
Me: Well, how did you decide you wanted to be Batman?
Because I like him.
He's my favorite.

Joseph (age 6)
By thinking what I want to be. And the thing I want to be is a cake... no, I mean a dad!
Me: What were you going to say before?
A cake decorator.
Me: Uh, why a cake decorator?
'Cause I like cake!

Savannah (age 8)
You need to explore the neighborhood a little. Ask your mom what kind of people there are, like dentists, florists, and artists.
Well, that's not all. You could ask neighbors.
So what I would do is, I would explore the neighborhood a little.

Alayna (age 3)
*dead silence... finally arms get thrown up in the air, followed by a shrug*
I don't know!
Just... plant some flowers!

So there you have it Tomi Ann.

Put on a Batman cape, bake a cake, explore your neighborhood, then plants some flowers and it should come to you.

I hope that methodology helps you in all your future endeavors.

If not, at least we all got one very important piece of information from this.

Don't forget to submit your important questions for my children via comment, email, or facebook!

If only I had had this counsel before spending years getting a mostly useless history degree!

Haha! I should patent this process and sell it to college students. :)

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. My son is on his way to becoming Batman. He's got a nice costume for it. He'll be just fine.

Have you seen this one. I thought of it when your son said that he wants to be batman.
