Leave the Judement at Home

I am interrupting my regularly planned posts for a special announcement.

I could count on one hand the number of truly serious posts I've ever written in my last four-plus years of blogging.

So when Jocelyn of We Talk of Christ, We Rejoice in Christ asked if I would guest post for her annual celebration of the Family Proclamation, I spent a lot of time trying to think of something fun and clever.

It wasn't working out for me so well.

I had had a lot of fun writing a post for her three years ago called, "Family Planning: It's None of Their Business".

But this time I kept coming back to my mom and what she had to offer others. So I wrote a mere breath of her story, the tiniest glimpse of her life. We even went through it together and she insisted that since most people don't know her story, we would only brush over facts without offering details. She was worried about upsetting someone.

I feel a bit nervous, I hope people who read it will see her strength, even if they don't share our religious views.

So as you head over to read my post, I hope you'll remember that it's not my story, but that of the amazing woman who raised me.

Wow! what a WONDERFUL post!! you gave me chills, and you almost made me cry! thank you for writing that. i can tell your mom is an amazing woman. well - of course she is - she raised you :) and i think you're pretty awesome. it's something we all need to remember, and it's something i've actually been thinking about A LOT lately... EVERYONE is going through something. and EVERYONE is a child of god. it is not my place to judge. i'm so far from perfect, that i shouldn't even think about judging others. once again - thank you for that. i'll be saving that post and re-reading it often. i'll probably even share it on my blog, if you don't mind.

Went over and read it, and man is it amazing. Thank you for sharing that with us. Amazing! Your comments and post always make me laugh (Except the one on We Talk of Christ, We Rejoice in Christ. That one left me humble) and leave me on a higher plain. Thank YOu. So glad I stumbled on your blog a year ago.
