I stand all amazed

Fast Sundays.

The Sundays where anyone in the congregation can go up to the pulpit and bear witness of what they know to be true about the gospel.

Ideally.

True, sometimes you never know what your going to get.

Like this one little ole' gal in our ward, who's somewhere in her 90's, has announced over the pulpit that Santa Claus is not real.

More than once.

Poor kids. Some took that unsuspecting blow pretty hard.

Anyway, for the last few months without me telling her to, or helping her in any way, Savannah has started writing down her testimony and going up there with her little paper to read it over the pulpit. It's different every month, and this is what she said yesterday.

Hi, my name is Savannah. I'd like to bare
my testimony that I know God will answer
your prayers if you have faith in Him. And I
know that we're not perfect. But we are special.
And I know that we have blessings as special
as us. And I know God loves us very much.
In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

Sometimes, I stand all amazed at the incredible wisdom and simple faith of a small child.

I hope she knows how wonderful she is.

Then later in the meeting, Jacob leans over, looks up at me and in his loud whisper that's not really a whisper says, "Mom! What's superhero plus superhero? ....... Eyelashes! Hahaha!"

Then abruptly goes back to his coloring.

Once again, I was all amazed.

Just for entirely different reasons.

I mean.... wow. I love that kid.

But I'm going to blame that one on his father.

Okay, wow. That is just adorable! I love little kid jokes!

Fast and Testimony Meetings are always so, . . . er, . . . amusing. :D And what a beautiful testimony Savannah has!

I hope I will be as amazing of a mother as you are, Serene. I was thinking about that the other day, actually. You remind me a lot of my mother. Keep up your grandness! :)

So. Savannah is a writer.

And you are in for some wonderful mothering experiences with her in the years to come.

As for Jacob, you will never have a dull moment with that character!

You are richly blessed, Serene.

=)

awwwwwwww what a SWEET testimony. That girl's got a head on her shoulders. And Jacob is pure awesome hilariousness. I hope I get both personalities in my family too as we have more kids!

My youngest wrote his testimony when he was younger too. I have never heard of, or seen another child do that.
Very fun that Savannah does that. It's great to save those little papers too - she'll love seeing those someday.

Children truly are amazing!

It was always interesting when all you children would speak in church...we never wrote your talks...just held our breath...that each of you...would be able to express yourselves...in a manner...that we knew you were understanding the gospel...

HOWEVER, there was only ONE child...that we all held with baited breath...cause we never knew what was going to come out of her mouth...Everyone in the congregation...KNEW...we can all count on at least one "embarrassing" moment for our entire family...as they all enjoyed...the moment of pure laughter....

LOVED Savannah's TESTIMONY! Yes...we are not perfect...but we are all certainly..."special"! LOVE IT!
