Zombie Mom

I'm starting to figure out where someone came up with the idea of a zombie.

They simply had to watch a mother function after a couple days of little sleep, I'm sure of it.

So I don't even want to think about what I must be acting like now.

A man? (okay sorry, I couldn't resist. I don't mean it)

But little Claira has had the most wicked cough these last TWO STINKIN' WEEKS.

Not only does it wake me up every time she goes into a coughing frenzy that can last for an hour or more, but I'm terrified of her choking, which she almost did once. So I'll lay there listening, or sit up and hold her so she can breath.

So, if you happen to pass me in the store or on the street, please excuse the foam dripping from my mouth, the frazzled hair and sunken eyes.

It's actually NOT my Halloween costume.

Speaking of which, my rockin' sister Becka started a new blog called The Good Side of Life where she posts book reviews, recipes, and just... life! And on her last post she posted this great video about moms and sleep, which my sister-in-law said she watched at two in the morning. Ha!

Anyway, go watch it. You'll laugh, I promise.

But I have some family in town this weekend, with more coming later today. We're getting my youngest brother prepped for his church mission.

But I'll write more about that later.

Right now, I had best be off to keep an eye on things.

At this very moment, my four-year old son is giving my mother advise on how to play "Angry Birds".

Weird.

My 4-year-old grandchild love angry birds like no other!

Sorry about that cough; it is always so hard to listen to your kids coughing their guts out in the night. If it's been two weeks, she just might need an antibiotic. (My pediatrician always said two weeks of a bad cough was about the time to check 'em out for bronchitis...)

Ah, well. This, too, shall pass. And I hope SOON!

Have fun with the fam.

=)

There are days and weeks that I think I don't remember.
Know one will think you are a zombie.
They'll know you are a mom.

At our house, we call that "Mombie." It's unfortunately not a rare word to hear. And my youngest has slept through the night for seven years.

I learned how to play a non-computerized Angry Birds and I'm so excited to try it with the kids!

I'm sorry about her cough, but luckily she's so adorably cute!!
