Which came first? The chicken or the egg?

Being a Florida girl, the first time I ever went to a corn maze was on a date while at college down in Utah. It had been a fairly decent day so, not really knowing any better, I actually showed up in flip flops and a long sleeved shirt. No coat.

Not one of my brighter moments to be sure.

If you feel you have to make fun of me for it then do it when I'm not looking. Thanks.

So last night, when I went to my second corn maze with the youth from our ward (church group) I came prepared. Boots, coat, the works.

And I still froze.

And got lost.

With no flashlight.

Let's just not talk about it.

Eh hem, anyway, despite my issues with the cold here in Frostbitewilleatyoualivethenspityoubackoutville, that doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to the holidays!

Thanksgiving will always be one of my favorites.

My family use to go camping EVERY Thanksgiving down at the springs in Florida. And you'd never know if it was going to be a cold or a hot holiday week. Either way, we always went swimming and there was always hot chocolate.

Best combo ever.

But oh, the stories I could tell.

However, my family reads this blog, and I'm not sure who knows what so.... we'll just move along now. This way I won't publicly admit that my oldest brother taught us how to play poker one night while my parents were sleeping.....

And as much as I love Halloween for the candy, I confess I'm not into the gory, scary side of things. I'm kind of a wuss that way. In fact, I've never had any kind of Halloween decoration in my house at all before.

But the kids were so excited about it that this year that I broke down and got a few Halloweeny things.

And the kids just think it's the Coolest. Thing. Ever.

So tell me truly, do you think it looks ridiculous that this is the only Halloween decoration in my house?

Be honest now.

Still, if the kids are happy, I'm happy. And if I'm happy, the kids are happy. And if the kids are happy... It's a 'chicken or the egg' thing.

I always did the Halloween decorations when my kids were home because they loved it.

I haven't put them up once since they cleared out...

I love that I'm not the only one who says "Halloweeny!" And I went to my first corn maze Monday night! No flip-flops, but my new work shoes weren't all that happy with me.

I think the decorations are cute, though "wicked" should be in green and black. :-)

I adore Halloween. I'm trying little by little to build up my decoration collection. After Halloween, I'm stocking up when everything'll be 80% off.

Nah it doesn't look weird. Make the kids happy.

I am laughing to hard at your mom's comment about JOSH teaching you poker to come up with my own creative comment.
