Responsibility?

So, I've been trying to teach my kids how to clean the bathroom.

They even each have their own pair of rubber gloves with their names, lovingly and permanently branded on them. *insert evil laugh here* Mwah ha ha ha....... *cough cough*  Eh hem, pardon me.

That evil laugh thing just happens sometimes. Weird.

Anyway, since I am trying to get ready for a family filled house this weekend, I was having the kids help me clean their bathroom.

Upon discovering that someone had bent the hinges on the door under the sink so that it won't close all the way, I mumbled to myself as I tried to push it back in place, "Umph! Must you guys ruin everything?"

Jacob, (age 4) who was standing right next to me, spoke up smiling widely, "Yup! It's our responsibility!"

I should have known there was a conspiracy.

I like Jacob he's got "gumption" - Ha Ha!! He just tells it like it is doesn't he.
Good luck with your company and if the kids start using their rubber gloves for water balloons at least you'll know who did it!

Haha! That's so funny and such a big word for a little guy! Good luck with the bathroom cleaning lessons btw.
My clean and orderly spare bathroom is one of the best things about my empty nest!

At least you have a sense of humor about the little things that make a family unique!
Hope you have a great weekend, you deserve it!

heh- i got a simliar response in our house today.
our oldest boy was annoying his little sister today, and getting under my skin in the process. So i asked him if he had anything better to do. "Nope, its my job as the big brother to pester lil sisters".

oh, that is the gospel truth.
my ellie isn't old enough to say it, but that is definitely her responsibility.

it confirms my belief in the fact that the average mom just won't have anything nice until the kids have left the house (or maybe longer).

That's pretty funny.
How do you get mad at something so cute.
He was honest. I mean, who would do that if they didn't right?

Haha! He already knows how to use humor to get out of trouble. My kind of kid.

Honestly, it's amazing that anyone with children is ever able to sell their house. Mine is going to need a major overhaul.

HAH! My youngest is 20 and my bathroom cabinets STILL won't close.

I've decided to just let it be and embrace the dings and dents in my house - I'll be here until I die anyway : )
