No one puked!

I'm in Montana right now, hanging out at my folks place, eating chocolate.

No seriously, I really am eating chocolate while I'm typing this.

See, Hubby decided we needed a family vacation, and since he'll probably have a pretty busy summer flying all over to Whoknowswhere and Wheretheheckareyougoingthistime for work, he said the only weekend he knew for sure he'd be able to get away would be this one.

So ya, it was a pretty last minute trip. And I managed to fit all seven of our belongings into two duffel bags and one plastic sack.

I was pretty proud of myself.

And never mind how big the duffel bags are! *humph*

We left home at 7pm last night and arrived here at 1:30am this morning. Surprisingly, the kids were awake for most of the trip and even more surprising, they did really well on the long drive. Especially since our car isn't fancy enough to have a dvd player in it. We entertained ourselves the old fashioned way.

You know, letter games and such? I can only hope you know what that means.

Oh! And no one threw up. (if you've read my blog long enough you know how fierce car sickness runs in our veins)

It was a miracle.

Well, I'm off to eat more chocolate. Will write more later!

I so understand the "wheretheheckareyougoingthisweek" syndrome. My husband called me a few weeks ago and told me he had his travel schedule, and it sounded something like this: "gone, blah blah blah, gone, blah blah blah, gone.". I can't even keep track of where he is anymore. It's not so fun, but it is proof that you can get used to just about anything.

I think the only place you can "vacation" to where the mommy gets a break as well is at grandma's house. Anywhere else and you end up needing a break from your vacation.

Have a blast visiting your family. The kids will love all that running.

Awesome for them not to puke too. They are angels!

Ooooh yum. Chocolate. I think I always crave it just by jumping into your blog.

Have fun in Montana! That's where my dad was born and I've always wanted to visit.

I thought we were the only ones in the world left without a DVD player in our car!

And bless you for taking a new baby on a trip like that. I hate dealing with my new babies around other people, especially my mom, so I prefer to stay at home where nobody can see my ineptness.

Wow. You really went OLD SCHOOL with your road trip. You know, they make those portable DVD players for like $70? They were a lifesaver for us.

Now that our boys are older, they spend most of their time on DS's and laptops. Doesn't keep them from puking though.

I find that these portable devices are more likely to induce vomiting than just riding in the car like in days of yore will. That's just been my experience.

So glad you all get to get away together! And glad there's no puke involved...so far. Hope you had fun!

Yeah, I know those games. Love it. But mostly, I am shocked that your kids stayed awake. Mine would have been out the minute they found out there was no movie. Heh.
