The Monster Turns Two

I wished her a happy birthday and sang her the "Happy Birthday" song, four times.

She just stared at me, blank-faced, having no clue what I was talking about.

All the other kids however, have asked when they get cake, and where all of Alayna's presents are, and cried, Is it my birthday yet?

When is it going to be my birthday?

Who's birthday is next?

Will I get lots and lots of presents on my birthday?

I want a big cake for my birthday!

It's my birthday next!

No, it's my birthday next!

Nuh uh! *pow*

*growl *

*run away*

And that's just the condensed version.

And Alayna was content to watch it all as one watches as movie before sneaking off to my closet to grab her favorite item.

They're the only shoes she ever plays with anymore. No others are good enough for her now.

Perhaps I should find her her own pair of sparkly shoes for her birthday!

Because like any good parent who is always so on top of things, I haven't found her a present yet.

Not that that has anything to do with the fact that I forgot her birthday was coming up until a couple days ago.

*cough* Really!

So Happy Birthday cute girl! It's been a crazy two years!

Here is a link to some sparkley squeaky shoes, you can take the squeaker out, but they are a pretty good deal, and she would probably love them. Have fun!

So cute! I can't believe how dark her hair was when she was born, compared to how light it is now. My youngest turns two in March, and I see so many similarities in Abbie and Alayna with their crazy antics:)

I think the sparkly shoes plan is a good one. Gymboree has some great ones!

At least somebody is appreciating the heels. Something about a naked toddler in four inch platforms screams innocence. :) Love it!

Good to know the item is exceeding its value with more than one in the household enjoying its purchase.

Can't believe it has already been two years. Happy Birthday to her!

Ha! That is so funny. Once they find that one thing. My daughter used to walk around with the bottom of my G's in tow. Why? I don't ask the why anymore.
My baby is one day older than your sweetie pie. Don't you love this age....most the time?

And Luke thought those shoes were a "waste of money"...Look how much JOY it has brought...to Alayna! (smile) How he needs to view this now...is that he brought JOY to TWO for the PRICE of ONE...(smile) Now...that is what I call a BARGAIN! (smile)

That girl has got some serious talent being able to walk in those. They are super stinkin cute and I'm wishing I had some now

In fact... there was a hot pair of purple heels at the store I've been having my eye on for the last few weeks. Maybe I'll splurge.

Happy Birthday, Alayna!!
