And there you have it!

If you have no idea what we're talking about, read yesterdays post real quick!

Yesterday's confession conversation with hubby.

Luke: So, what'd you do today?

Me: Oh... you know... stuff.

L: What kind of stuff?

Me: You know, stuff! *dumb nervous giggle escapes, the one that always gives me away when I'm up to something* Well, I cleaned the boys room!

L: Yes, I noticed that. What else? *suddenly eyeing me suspiciously*  Is it that bad? I'm not going to like it, am I.

Me: Well, I may have... you know, bought something today. A Christmas present for me!

*crickets chirping*

L: I thought we had that all figured out.

Me: *speaking really fast* Well, I know, but I had seen them last week and I just loved them but I passed them up because you know, they are silly and all and I don't need them, but this time I just couldn't! They only had one pair left in my size! *nervous giggle intrudes again* Plus, I has a little art money left over from my last check. Just enough to pay for them so they didn't come out of the budget.

L: You got boots, didn't you.

Me: *clearing of throat* Worse actually. Heels.

Luke: ..................................... *groaning*

To be totally fair, he really didn't give me hard time about it.

But five minutes later, Luke looks up from his computer.

L: Gold and glittery??

Me: *looking sheepish* Oh yea, didn't I tell you that?

L: Show me.

I was right of course, he hated them. Still, all in all he was a good sport about it. He thinks they're pretty flashy, which the kind of are. Flashy generally isn't my style, but for some reason, I fell in love with these.

Some of you know me too well.

In truth, I'm not sure why I took to them. I don't have a single gold item of clothing in my closet. Outside of a couple pairs of earrings, I don't own anything that's gold.

And when it comes to flashy, red is about as brave as I get.

Perhaps I could blame this on pregnancy hormones too?  Since I feel all fat and frumpy right now, I just needed a little cheering up!

Glittery things always cheer me up!!

These shoes make me happy, I can't explain why, they just... do.

Oh, and no making fun of how big my feet are. For some reason, I given a size extra-long.

With extra-long toes to match.

So, what do you think? (about the shoes, not my feet)

I love them, Serene! I think a cute red or purple dress would go well with those beautiful, gold, glittery things! :)

Don't worry, I think it's something most pregnant women do. At least you didn't spend your husband's whole pay check on Heath bars. :D (I did not do this, as I don't have a husband, but my mother did when she was expecting baby five - and it was amusing. :D).

Love you! :)

They are darling! Of course I wouldn't be caught dead in them.
On accounta foot comfort is everything to me.
They look darling......but could you go shopping all day in them?
Ya, you probably could.

I think they look great on your feet....they really are sort of a Christmas present for your hubby too......cuz you are so cute and all.

Oh wow, and holy cow! I love them...And you definitely don't need anything gold to go with them. They are an accent and a spotlight stealing all by themselves. A little black dress would do it up just right! Very cool. And good for you! I'm assuming no credit cards were involved in this transaction!

Oh and I have a question for you...I'll email you!

Shoes are so fun. I say you have every right to blame it on pregnancy hormones.

When I was pregnant with Abbie, we were moving into our first home. I was painting the toddler/baby room. I had visions of jungle theme, so I painted the room zig zag (totally awesome) with jungle orange on bottom and jungle green on top (totally NOT awesome) Now I have to repaint everything because it is the kind of precious that isn't good:)

I so totally guessed it was heels. I love them. I just read another blog where the author bought gold sparkly heels. Why should little girls be the only ones with sparkly shoes? These would work with black AND brown, so I think you made a good choice. Where'd you find them?

My WV: award. Seriously! These shoes deserve an award.

ok first of all - i love em! so cute.
i have way too many shoes. but i can't stop buying them. it's true though... i'd rather try on shoes than pants because then i don't have to feel bad about my ever increasing waist line since my shoe size will never change!

oh and ps - i love the little one laying on the floor in the background of your shoe pictures. so awesome!

Love them! They are so Ca-ute. Where did you get them, I might need a pair.

I think they are perfect for Christmas, and I admire your ability to stand up in them without falling over (as I would).

Wear 'em in good health, my friend. But, seriously, do be careful! You're probably a bit "out of balance" tummy-wise right now.

;)

PS. And yes. During pregnancy, you should blame EVERYTHING on pregnancy hormones...

I adore the shoes! Nothing like a good pair of heels to make you feel like you look top notch!

Hey, old friend. I just found your blog recently and what a perfect day to start commenting. Shoes... the universal love of women, right?! :) I love them! They look so great and you will find plenty to go with them. I can already think of dozen things in my closet... I may just have to go find me a pair!!!

I hope you are well. Its good to see your cute face on here!! Love you!

SUPER cute!!!

WAY CUTE! You're gonna look so hawt on Sunday :)

but I could never wear them on account of I have bunions and it hurts to wear tall shoes. I want new feet, even if that means getting long feet with long toes.

From now on...when I think of the "Christmas Shoes"...I will have in my mind...your "glittery golden" shoes! (smile)

I LOVE THEM!!! I would totally buy them myself.

LOVE THE SHOES!! You can NEVER go wrong buying a pair of shoes, even ones you don't have anything to wear with them.

Put on a fitted black dress and those shoes and your hubby may decide that he likes them after all ;)

Those are HOT!!

And this is definitely when it comes in handy to be the one who does the finances.

Remember that gold is a neutral color. You can wear it with anything. Shoes can add so much bling to an outfit. So, you could totally pull this off! You never know, they might actually grow on him!

YOU CRACK ME.

Ph I am drooling with envy!!!!! Argh!! SO gorgeous!!!!!!

Wear them with black, brown, with red, with jeans, wear them with jammies and to put out the trash!

You are so lucky to have LONG feet!! When I was university, I worked in shoe sales...first sizes to go are 6, then 7....last to go? Anything larger then 9...sop end of the season there was ALWAYS a ton in the larger sizes.

I take a size 6...and always pay full price and always miss the cute shoes cause they get sold first:(

So please love the pretty shoes and enjoy those long feet, they save you money:)

Ok....I'm not a gold fan either but they are super cute! You could wear them with lots of things. And if I were you, I would wear them OFTEN so they don't collect expensive dust in the closet.

Oh, and I love the little peeper in the background. Too cute! =)

I LOVE THEM! I don't have anything to wear something like that with ether, but you'll find something. Really. And when you find something that has "wow factor" you just GOTTA buy it! Good call.

Well, I'm not a fan of glittery--or shoes. So I'm not the best person to give an opinion. But I totally understand the "couldn't pass it up." And I used the Christmas, in the budget excuses, too. So now Bob had a little pink sister--who squeaks! Thus I try not to laugh at others' weaknesses--because mine are worse!

Those are so fabulous I would wear them around the house ironing clothes and changing diapers and stuff. Good buy!

amber_mtmc said...

Ha! They are fabulous! And, if they did NOT come out of the budget, they are even better!

(I can't say pregnancy hormones encouraged your buying decision--I think it was your fashion sense. Much better than mine.)

Cluttered Brain said...

Love the shoes!
And they were the LAST pair in your size? AWESOME.
You wear them.
I'm sure you can find an occasion to wear them...perhaps to the next blogger conference?
Ohh la la. You could win best dressed feet or something.
Love the way your honey reacted....
lol.
Men don't understand shoes.

It's fun to get something that you really want, but don't need every once and a while. You deserve them! And they make your pretty legs look great.

E said...

Dude if I had your legs and was coordinated enough to even stand in heels I would have gotten them too!!! You rock Serene!

I don't want ANYONE in the family to get on ME for the shoes I buy! I bought those exact shoes just silver and flat (due to my swelling ankles) I LOVE THEM!!! (yours I mean, well I do love mine, but I love yours too, after this baby is born I am SO buying some sparkly shoes with 9 inch heels too!!!)

Love them. Wish I had them. I'm just impressed that you can wear them while pregnant (I get Hagrid feet when I'm preggo). They can go with tons of stuff...start with black, move from there. The possibilities are endless.
