From the mouth of babes?

Sometimes I hear stories about older siblings "predicting" or talking about their unborn siblings where often, they get the gender of the baby correct! And the mothers proudly talk about about how amazing it is that they could tell before anyone knew or before she even realized she was expecting!

So tell me, dear readers, what do you make of this.

Two days ago:

Four year old Joseph approached me while I was dying on the couch.

Mommy? Doth da baby in your tummy mae you thick? (with his lisp, that last word is suppose to be "sick", but either way, he's correct!)

Yes, it does.

What awre you doe-ing to name her?

Name 'her'?

Yeth! I think we should name her, ummm.... Hearths!

Hearts huh? Well, that a.......... nice name.

Yea, but I think you should name her... Pasta!

Pasta! That's a silly name! Besides, what makes you think it's a girl?

Umm, she'th not a dirl, she'th a boy! I mean, he'th a boy!

So, am I having a boy or a girl?

Umm, a boy!

Yesterday:

Joseph again approaches me while on the couch.

Hey mom! How'th Pasta doing today? Is she dood?

She?

Yea! Da baby!

I thought you said I was having a boy?

You are!

Oh.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And can I just throw out there that this little girl has more speed and stealth than all three of her siblings combined?
She has no idea how lucky she is that she is just so stinking cute!
Her life depends on it.
That, my friends, is make-up. Notice her legs? By the time she figures out it's suppose to go on her face, she out to be a whiz!
I'm with "M" - I think twins too - Hee hee!!
It is sometimes very amazing what the kids say.
And your little darlin' is so cute with make up all over her - even though I am sure you wanted to pull your hair out at the moment :-D
Ha, no kidding...I was going to say whatever kind of make-up that is, it gives great coverage!
Don't worry my boys are always saying the wrong pronouns for girls and boys. It's super embarrassing in public, so yeah I think he means boy!
Alayna and Audriana are just so alike!!
Oh, I love it! Sometimes they are right, and sometimes they are wrong, but your little guy is going to make sure he is right one way or the other!! Love the make-up. Be thankful it wasn't the mascara! (That doesn't come off in time for church, let me just share that little tidbit of information!)
haha! Sorry....don't mean to laugh at you while you lay "dying" on the couch :)
Well, you're definitely having a baby. Smart boy! :)
One of my girls is insisting we're having a girl. Won't even discuss the possibility of having a boy. She's refusing. Heaven help us if she doesn't get her baby sister.
Im supposed to be spending several hours a day in bed or on the couch to ward off pre-term labor, and after I fell asleep today, Max trashed the living room. I woke up to him shoving a baby wipe in my mouth.
And just to save you the call to poison control, mascara is not poisonous.
I like how he's not taking sides, that way he's safe whether it be a girl or a boy, either way could say, "I told you tho"
That lil sister of yours is taking full advantage of you on the couch!
Naughty, naughty, naughty!!
Her simple "innocent-like-looks" will save her for years to come! (smile)
But sometimes, they just really want one or the other and are convinced that is what you will have. My oldest really wants another sister, so he is convinced it's a girl. I was convinced it was a girl when my mom had my youngest brother--after all, I already was the only girl with four brothers, how on Earth could Heavenly Father be so cruel as to give me ANOTHER brother? When he was born, I seriously cried and cried. I was only eight, but it's become a family joke. I keep telling my oldest that there's a good chance it will be another boy, but he's convinced.
I will find out on Thursday. I'm one of those who HAS to know ASAP. Can't wait until the birth to find out. That would literally drive me out of my mind.
