My Personal Redecorater

I'm going to write a book.

"The life and times of Destructo-Layna."

"Condemned by her deeds,  exonerated by her cuteness, Alayna shows the toddler world the art of driving their mother insane."

I'm thinking best seller for sure!

And can you believe she actually got mad at me for taking away her marker? Mad at me!

The nerve.

I couldn't stand to take a picture of the floor, it was too devastating.

So... anyone feel up to babysitting?

Um....Not so much.

PS. Not without a liability contract holding me harmless, that is.

It is such a great life and times of Destructo-Layna. She looks so naughty and mischievous. I like the third picture of draw herself with marker pen. But in all this picture she looks cute and innocent.

We should put your and mine in a padded room, and let them go at it with markers, and toilet paper rolls, throw a couple phones, and anything liquid, and they will play for hours. How come no one invented that yet? Love the crying picture.

Oh, Serene. I don't even know what to say. I hear they still like to adopt young girls before they're prepubescents. Good luck with that. :)

Gina said...

Oh, geez. This makes me feel TONS better. My 2 year old is JUST like this. He is so mischievous, and so fast and SO lucky that he's cute. He is a walking tornado, and nothing, I mean, NOTHING is safe in his path.

We go through stages with Spencer with only pencils within reach, just to avoid the colored belly. Same with scissors.... :O) I think that is why they make those super hard to reach cupboards above the fridge...for the markers and scissors and other untouchables! All other cupboards are within kid reaching range around here. Good luck!

hahahaha

sorry.

She's too cute for her own good.

Her hair suddenly grew overnight the last month or so didn't it?

Note to self: Never, ever put Alayna and Max together in the same room. Their combined destructive power would probably end the world as we know it.

PS- Your pic in yesterday's post was adorable. You are one of the stinkin' cute pregnant women. I'm not sure if we can be friends anymore. At least for the next 6 weeks until I have a baby. :P

I'm so there with you on the cottage cheese! My 2 year old hasn't pulled quite this mess with markers yet but my 4 year old needs lessons in graffiti...I forgot to mention that when you are going to tag territories of ones house you ought not write your name as the tag! Oh yeah!

The only consolation that I can give you is to assure that she WILL grow up. Of course, you will definitely have a few (or a lot) of grey hair by then.

Babysit? Um.... yeah I got that thing I gotta do... real important... can't get out of it. So uh.... yeah.
:)
My mom has a couple pics of marker-faced children too. Oh-so-priceless now that we're all grown up.

Abbie is the same way. She freaks out if I take her pens and/or paper away. I always get her back from my MIL's covered in, gratefully, washable marker. Abbie is also one one of the messiest eaters I have ever seen! She believes that yogurt is not only yummy for her tummy, but great to use as table and body paint. I am seriously considering using chalkboard paint on one of the walls in the kids' room. (except then I would have to deal with that nasty chalkdust)

It sounds as if WreckorAbbie could be Destructo-Layna's sidekick:)

Just when I start thinking I might be ready for kids, I come across this sort of thing that makes me come to my senses ;) Thanks for the reality check!

just a few years and you can do this all over again!!!

okay - on a positive note - my third child used to create these kind of messes a lot. pink yogurt footprints, blue icing handprints, marker lines down the stairs, around the entire basement, and back up the stairs... yep... all of those. BUT he was the only one who ever got that crazy... and at 11 he's learning... although he did just have to patch a hole in the wall...

AAAHAHAHAHAHAHA... What?? Babysit?? Sorry I uh.. gotta go get the thing from the thing... Yeah.. That's it..
Seriously, I thought I was lacking as a mom that my kids did things like this, now I know it is the kids, not he mom LOL

Look at the bright side. This was a fantastic post. But I'll still pass on the sitting. I have two of my own rugrats to deal with.

Oh, boy. I remember those days. I really thought it'd be f-o-r-e-v-e-r before mine grew out of things like that and now I wish I could turn back the clock sometimes. Only sometimes.

She is something else. Just making sure you stay good and tired and don't waste time sitting and resting. Who needs rest anyway. (You just reminded me I need to hide the marker I'm using to mark packing boxes).

I had to reread your post cause I was crying over my darling little two year old kathleen...this week alone she painted my new WHITE comforter with a gaudy red lipstick I know now I should have thrown out (WHY did I keep it??? never keep lipstick you get for free ina goodie bags from drugstore!)
She painted the wall with toothpaste...and yes it takes the paint off.
She used liquid eyeliner to draw on her face (she likes makeup...seeing a trend).
She sprinkled USED kitty litter on the floor...thank god kitty didn't decide to use it again...
She poured milk on the hearth where there were some ashes...now we have sour, sticky bloack stuff that doesn't want to come clean all over the hearth...
She has made toilet paperc onfetti 3 times...
Flushed so many items down the toilet...
The kid is like a ninja...I am glad I am not alone in this battle of the toddlers!
