Cat's out of the Bag!

Well, first, I almost threw up in someone's car.

And then I was caught eating crackers during church.

I had this grand plan to keep it all a secret until the week before Thanksgiving, which is when my brother gets married, and just let everyone stare and try to gather up the courage to ask, or to sit and wonder if I've just been eating too many cookies.

But my husband says I don't hold my morning sickness very well and everyone's going to know by then anyway.

I'm honestly waiting to die from nausea and headaches any moment now.

So I finally confessed to my mom. And there's just no turning back from that.

Oh, and I swear, I'm showing already. My husband doesn't think so, he thinks I've gone totally bonkers, but clothes never lie.

Now, it's not like I've forgotten how sick I get, but I've totally forgotten just how sick I get.

Know what I mean?

The couch, the bathroom and I are becoming fast friends and my kids will learn what the true meaning of torture is after several months of living on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Anyhow, here you go, proof and all that.

We're guessing about six or so weeks along now. Still pretty early but I've been feeling nauseous for a while now, and it finally hit full force about three days ago.

And if you're one of those people who don't get sick, or can't tell they're pregnant so it's a total surprise when they finally find out?

We can't be friends. Like, ever.

Okay fine, we can still be friends. But just know that I might growl at you from time to time.

Anyhow, we really are super excited. We'll just have to see if my family can survive me over the next few months.

*insert perfect angel smile, with a growl*

I think you were right the first time. You can't be friends, like ever. CONGRATULATIONS! My sister in law is about six weeks along, too. And sick. Just this week. And smells. And ALL of it. GOOD FREAKING LUCK!

Congratulations. I was kind of wondering for a couple of weeks now. (I say that like I know you ha ha ha) but just a few comments you have made, made me wonder. That is wonderful news! I guess you won't have the perfect family again soon. Aaahhh

Hil said...

Congratulations! I hope the morning sickness phase passes quickly... ugh... I really don't miss that one bit.

Hey, Congratulations... I know how you feel, the couch and the bathroom. Are my besties. My kids are just surviving, 2 more weeks and it will be gone I hope. I hope you feel better soon. Our dues date is May 7th, let us know when you are due. Heavenly Father has sent a whole batch down. There are so many due around the same time around here....

I was waiting for it. LOL I knew either you or Angel were pregnant. :) Wow! I am so happy for you, if Angel gets pregnant and the Annie soon after, almost all of you will be pregnant at once. LOL Of course Annie needs to wait until after Nov. 23rd, you hear me Abe!

Hey, that means a whole new set of toes for your blog header!

Congratulations Serene! :)

Hurray! What wonderful news for a Monday morning!!

=D

PS. Hope your nausea improves sooner with this pregnancy than ever before.

Congratulations!! The crackers during church routine is how I can always tell :)

Men just don't understand that after baby #1 a woman's body says 'Oh, I know what we're doing' and sort of just pops out at 3 weeks. You try to convince it that it doesn't need to be so anxious to gather fat, but it's not listening because you just became a back burner to your uterus. You don't matter any more to your body... only the baby does. In fact the only thing left to claim as your own is your thoughts, and that only lasts until about half way through the second trimester.

Congratulations!!!! Can I recommend my favorite morning sickness trick? Gum. I chewed gum until my jaw was sore but it really helped with the nausea.

Congrats, Serene! I think all of your pregnancies makes up for the lack of mine!

Brittney said...

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY Congrats!! Sorry about the whole sickness thing. I will hope for myself that I never come upon that feeling... and hope you can forgive me for wishing that upon myself and we'll still be friends :)

Amanda Joy Petersen said...

Congrats. I won't feel your pain until next year when we go for our third:) (That makes it sound like I just go to the store and select a baby off of the shelf, with no swelling or heartburn, or ultrasensitive gag reflex;)

Cheri Chesley said...

Congratulations! And good luck. I was always sick and miserable for at least the first half of each pregnancy. Fortunately, your kids will survive months of pb&j--and when you start cooking again it will make you a superhero. Just stay away from the seafood section of the grocery store. ugh

i hope this doesn't mean you won't attend Casual Blogger Conf...i still wanna see you ya know...
Love ya.
Hope that *blasted* mornign sickness goes away soon!

Wow. I'm "surrounded." I just found out last week that my sister is having HER 5th baby. Well, congratulations to you, and her, and me ('cause I am proud aunt). Good luck! Wish I could help with this one.

Yay! I'm so happy for you! now you have an excuse to eat (and drink) chocolate all day!

I may get terribly sick, but I keep the weight. Not sure which I'd prefer, but please say we can still be friends.

Seriously, congratulations and good luck these next few months.

(Also, I think you should invest in a shirt to wear to Walmart that says, "YES. I know what causes this. Not that's it's any of your business....")

Gina said...

1- Congratulations! Pregnancy is terrible but worth it because you get a baby!

2- You are scaring me! I've been feeling sick for days and have been telling myself that it MUST be the flu, because IF I were pregnant, it would be far, far too early to be sick... but if you're six weeks and have been sick for awhile... that's no bueno. (my youngest is 9 months old, not terrible, but not ideal, I guess)

Oh...What a grand MONDAY MORNING...just thinking that #14, #15, and #16...will be blessing my LIFE in 2011!!!!! (smile)

YAY! Congrats!

WOW! And I totally have compassion for the sick part. The IDEA of feeling that away is birth control around here. haha!

Congrats!!

Kristine Mullen said...

Yay! Congrats. And it's true, you probably are showing (no offense:). By #5 I was in maternity clothes at 6 weeks, by #6 I was in maternity clothes at like 4 weeks.

Here's what you're in for when you're out in public,

"Are they ALL yours?"

"Do you run a daycare?"

"Are you having twins?" (the more you have the quicker you show, therefore people think you are HUGE for how far along you are.

haha - It's so worth it. I just laugh. I LOVE having a big family. Most people don't know what they're missing.

I'll be praying you don't feel too sick.

Congrats again! :)

Congratulations! Sorry things suck so much right now. I feel like I got away with something, not realizing what my morning sickness was until it was almost gone. I resent this little baby a lot less than I might have if I realized I was feeling so queesey because of her! Luckily by the time I wised up, I started feeling really good. Here's hoping you get through this faster than you can imagine.

JennaK said...

Congratulations! I'm the same way with my morning sickness. Can't hide it, there's just no possible way, even though I try.

So excited for you!

CONGRATS.

Feel better, ASAP?
I doesn't last forever, right?

Congratulations!!! You always are sick when pregnant, but you look awesome afterwards, so I do not know which I would like more...tTo be sick or to be left with all the baby chubs after! lol Just be glad that it will end eventually. =)

To be honest, I've been waiting for this post for a few months now and when your posting slowed I kept waiting for the announcement! My friend claimed she was too big at six weeks and already showing. I told her she looked normal and I couldn't notice...ended up she was pregnant with twins! lol

Congratulations Serene! You are such a fabulous mom and I think it's great that you're having another baby. Hope you start feeling better soon! Pregnancy sickness is the WORST!!! Congrats again!

Congrats! It's always been a dream of mine to think, "hmm, what's that moving around down there?" And find out that I am like 15 weeks along. Alas, no such luck. I know, with all certainty by 8 weeks at the LATEST. I fear my dream will never come true.

Oh, and I survived all of my pregnancies on unisom and b6. I would have died otherwise. (They help a TON with the nausea.)

Larsen said...

Lucky to know I was one of the first few people to know! Shhhh! Don't tell you mom I said that!

nikib4kids said...

Congrats! I'm sorry about your morning sickness....I've heard it really stinks....which is why we can no longer be friends! I didn't know I was pregnant with my 4th(and last) till I was about 5 months along. I highly reccommend it to everyone! Anyway, another baby is always exciting! Let me know if you need some good sweets! ;-)

Heather said...

Congratulations! I totally sympathize with the morning (all-day??) sickness. Hope you feel better soon!

I can pretend to be surprised... but there was a recent "like" of yours on facebook that had to do with Maternity Clothes... facebook holds no secrets girl :)

Congrats - and seriously - forget crackers (I still have issues with eating them now) and go straight for the gingersnaps!

and (I swear, it worked for me... even if it IS the weirdest thing) sniffing newsprint... (just the black and white stuff). Although I do have to admit that it sounds like YOUR brand of nausea/morning sickness is a little worse than mine :(

You rock :)

Congrats!!!! I am so excited for you. Ten more little toes on your banner!

Men can get away with eating church a lot easier because we have that whole leaning forward on the pew in front of us and pretending we are sleeping while we are eating our kids cherios thing going on.

Congratulations! Can we still be friends even though I didn't have a spot of morning sickness? I had to have c sections. ugh. I hope your pregnancy goes really well in spite of the morning sickness.

Oh my, congratulations girl! Take care of yourself. I never know when I'm pregnant (i found out i was pregnant with my son at 4 1/2 months, lol) so our bloggy friendship might be a rocky one, lol.

wow too many comments to read at one sitting with 5 kids all over the place(:
I am so happy for you girl. You dont have to worry about growling at me I am right there with you. when friends say they never get sick I almost puke right there infront of them....really not by choice(: hehehe
I hope it eases up for you some and that you all can enjoy the blessing and mirace. I know I rambled on but we dont get to talk too much. Hope you are all doing great(:
