The Birthday Trial - Final Verdict

Have no idea what the heck this post is about? Read Part 1 and Part 2.

Are sick of these posts yet? Bored? Terrified? Inwardly... or outwardly groaning?

After all, no one likes jury duty. *yawn*

Let's dive right in and get this trial over with so you all can go reward your patience with some chocolate. Assuming you want to look younger that is.

*sigh* So many humiliating pictures to choose from, so little time. But I finally decided to keep some of my dignity in tact.

Without further ado, I have come prepared today to show you photos of my 17 and 18 year old self.

I turn your attention to Exhibit 17A. This is my little sister and I while on the trip up to Canada to my brother's wedding.

After so many hours in the car, you start to do strange things.

Very strange things.

I'll never return to this particular restaurant, ever. Just in case the recognize me.

I do think feather boas should come back into style though.

Just sayin'.

And Exhibit 17B is from my very first summer at BYU. Me and my two besties.

Since I technically had a year of college already under my belt, whenever someone asked what year I was, I could respond, I'm a sophomore. It always got a little awkward when they asked my age. Uh... 17.

*insert shocked and horrified expression from the 27 year old boy who just asked me out*

Exhibit 18A is again from college, a couple months after I turned 18.

It was a mud volleyball party.

It was awesome.

I'm not ashamed. I want to do it again.

And finally, the moment you've all been waiting for, because it finally means the end of these posts, Exhibit 18B. Me and my older brother.

I was home from college to introduce my boyfriend to my family. The one before my husband. The one who *sort of* proposed, and then dumped me.

Jerk. But that's another story.

Anyway, I love this picture. It makes me happy. He was my best friend as a kid.

And quite frankly, he's still pretty awesome. Even if 95% of his clothes are collared shirts and slacks. Some girl needs to marry that boy and get him some t-shirts!

So, do you think my 27 year old self still looks like my 17 or 18 year old self?

So far the consensus has been that I have slowly digressed in age, apparently because of my clothes. I guess tapered jeans make you look old or something.

So what's the final verdict? Pick a number between 13 and 18.

It's okay, go ahead. I'm not afraid. I ate my chocolate bar for the day, so I can take it.

I love the mud football photo.

As for your age, I am going to say that it varies with each photo, but never...NEVER...do you look older than 18.

(I should go into politics...)

=)

I hate you too much to guess. You don't age!

I'm just amazed that you get prettier and prettier as you get older. You're gonna be a major bombshell at 35!!! Also, happy birthday!

While you do indeed look fantastic for your age (my age- and that makes me sad, because we don't look the same), I do not think you look eighteen. Your skin is fabulous, and THAT looks like it belongs on an 18 year old, but there is definitely something in your face that says you've grown up, especially when compared with the teenage photos.

Congrats on being so fabulously youthful that everyone thinks you look better than you did as a teen! Go eat your chocolate, you deserve it!

so, am i right? do you weigh less now than you did in most of these older pics?

apparently a mud facial is REALLY good for the complexion!

Brenick: Yes, you're right. I do weight less now than I did then.

By about 10 - 15 pounds!

I think you are one of the few that gets better and better as they age. To me, you look younger now than you did in your teens!

I weigh less now than I did then...and by then, I mean at 9 months pregnant with my fourth child. I'm not proud of it, but it is what it is. A repeat of all the other replies~you're more beautiful now.

Mud Volleyball Pictures. My exclamation (outloud): "Oh my gosh! It's...I can't remember his name. Or hers."

That is how pathetic I am.

Love "the Sara(h)s" picture.

My verdict? The perfect age.

As for a number, you asked. You said you can take it. I would say you look 23 now.

And you are absolutely gorgeous.

Period.
