What's in a Nose?

Last night, I was trying to clean up my computer's desktop. It was starting to look like a hoarder owned the poor thing.

Having the same computer for eight years does that to a person.

But I happen upon these pictures from a couple months go.

A rather good looking crew, if I do say so myself.

I guess 36 months of pure torture was worth it after all!

Torture comes in many forms. Mine just happens to be pregnancy.

Anyway, at the time, we had received a call from my brother-in-law that Bear World was having a "free" pet the bear cubs day!

Naturally we thought it would be a blast for the kids, so we loaded up and headed down.

Ha! Turns out it was only free to look at them. If you wanted to touch them, you had to buy a $15 photo or give up an organ.

Sneaky little capitalists.

And of course, as was no doubt their evil design, we were there already so we decided to stay and fork out the doe. I wanted to give up a kidney and keep the $15. But in the end we decided the process would take longer than four little ones surrounded by glassware could possible stand.

Wanna know what a $15 photo looks like?

I don't know about you, but by the looks of the poor little cubs eyes, he must have been terrified!

See that whites of his eyes? Panic. Pure and simple.

I just want you all to know that for how long we had to stand in line, weaving and winding our way though overpriced stuffed animals and breakable items, the kids were very good.

Very good indeed.

They didn't even bother to pick their noses out of boredom!

They had more important things to do.

That is very cool! We have bears come through our yard all the time, other than winter when they're hibernating. Of course, the baby bears in our yard are not allowed to be held by our kids because in all likelyhood, an angry mama would be nearby. ;)

hehe.. that last pic cracks me up. we have a bear (and a 'few' bucks) mounted in our house, but we have a few outside that like to visit our dumpster... (you could come and pet ours for free.. no lines.. ) :)

Cute picture! Worth the stand in line. Poor baby bear! We have some with a koala. They are usually drunk on eucalyptus, though.

You have such a cute family!
We live in Idaho and have been to Bear World but never held a baby. So sweet!

That's a way cute family you have there and so glad you forked over the dough and didn't disapoint the kido's! You are a good mom.

Brittney said...

What?? There's no way you didn't PLAN those coordinating clothing colors for a photo, is there?

Serene is my name, not my life! said...

My shirt is actually a bright pink color. Savannah's is red. The photo just makes them look the same. I truly didn't coordinate anything!

If you sell your kidney, you could bring in $40,000.00 Don't give it up for $15.00. You could buy a lot of bear cubs with that.

Cute family, and the pic turned out GREAT. Almost worth a kidney!

We have a cabin in Island Park and every time we drive by that place we wonder if it is worth it. I am still not sure, but it looks like your family had a great time.

I hate when places do that! We've been known to turn around and leave, though. I love the bear nose picking. I hope they don't think it is okay to try on a live bear, though!

HILARIOUS!!! I'm all about nose-picking pictures!

You know what they say:
You can pick your nose,
and you can pick your friends,
but,
You can't wipe your friends on the couch!

Gag, I know.

I went to bear world ....once.....total rip off of money. Glad you didn't lose a kidney to them.

We fell for the "free" thing too! I can't believe that we were4 in line next to each other for as long as we were and didn't speak. Until I practically bombarded your with your only choice-- being my family's photographer.

MY KIDS are also in your photos! So crazy.
