A WHAT day?

As parents, we would do anything for our children. Like catch throw up with our bare hands.

So, when we wake up one "spring" morning to this:

we don't shrivel up into the fetal position, lock ourselves in the pantry with a bag of chocolate, and sing "Fool's Rush In" all day... however sorely we are tempted.

No no, we are strong! If we can endure potty training, than surely a snow day would be cake! Pish, fluffy white cake with whipped topping!

So we pull out the big guns.

Oh the thrill of something new and exciting! Oh the fighting over who gets the best spot and what stair belongs to which member of royalty!

And at last, after 26 trips, everyone gets all moved in. Comfy, cozy, home.

And the playing begins! Such a happy time.

Such a short, brief, happy time.

As the initial excitement wears off and the grouchies set in, we slowly slip into survival mode. And in the name of all that represents sanity, we take pictures. Lots of cute, adorable, blurry, low-quality pictures.

Stinkin' blinkin' camera. (Told you it was cool to say that! Swear words are SO overrated)

Someday, I will own a nice camera. One that takes good pictures and costs more than $85. I just know it! Or at least... I dream it.

Because I dream big.

But despite the spring sunshine withdrawals everyone is experiencing, we stay strong! We allow creativity to flow free and wild!

Because we would do anything for our kids. Like start a fashion trend. It's all about the bags, you know? My bags just happen to be under my eyes from lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of sleepless nights. Maybe I could start my own product line called, "Kidcci".

So, we let the couch, the master bedroom and boys bedroom, get collectively trashed transformed into Santa's sleigh.

And at the end of the day, 237 fights, and a bloody nose later, you gulp down the rising hysteria as you look around your tornado destroyed house, shove a piece of chocolate in your mouth and proudly declare, "I did it! I survived! Because I am strong!"

*cue theme song...

I'm currently in the process of uploading pictures of my kids playing in the sprinkler from yesterday... our spring break is actually feeling a lot more like summer break. You're brave for enduring spring snow! Hope it doesn't last long.

MY 10 year old still likes to play in tents. LOL.

I love that you keep your sense of humor about mothering. A good thing! (And the secret to survival...)

You are finding the "secret" to living in the midst of "chaos"...finding that "ray of light"...or that "one precious moment"...you can honestly say..."I discovered "the touch of the Master's hand"...an act of a "tender mercy" from from Father!

The times we made forts and destroyed the house are the times I remember best from my childhood. Those were some really great times.

I want a fort. At least it's a nice day today.

I love forts. Especially when they are in my room with the door locked. And it's just me. And maybe my husband if he's lucky.

Yea I experience your "spring" last week. No thank you.

Wait, wait. What was the theme song? "Fools Rush in," "I Will Survive" or "I'm a Survivor?"

Definitely, "I will survive".

Serene, the kids will remember this! Really, I promise! The pics are the proof just in case they forget! At least you had a stairway that they could use! The last time mine did that, they used my living room couch and no one could get in the door!! (That included me because they locked me out, "on accident" giggle, giggle, snort!) Love that you play with them and let them be kids! What a great mom!

FUN TIMEZ wit the kidz! I am ALWZ for that! Life can keep us caught up and too busy to take time for our children. I have been doing things with ma kidz and just enjoying them. we have to cherish the young days because they grow up so fast and then we have missed the bond with them if we stay too caught up.....Many Blessings to you and your family!

Nice work! You know, it's the things like that your kids will remember. Think 20 years ahead when they're sitting around visiting from college, or with their spouses, talking about what fun that was. They won't remember the fights, or the mess, and if they do they'll just laugh about it then. That's what life is all about!

Nice job. I still remember doing those when I was a kid. I know they're a pain for parents, though. We have survived several of them at our house over the years.

UN-believable. We are having 80 degree weather...but we'll be hit with reality again soon, I'm sure! Very warm weather for Spring in Pennsylvania! AWesome tents!

The picture stories more than make up for the camera quality. :)

Who said anything about being willing to catch throw up?! You're a great parent.
