To my Blogitty Blog Pals

There are 1000 unread emails in my inbox. *weep*

I check my email all through the day just so I can laugh, cry, or choke on my chocolate as I read all your delicious comments or emails. But anything less worthy than you all fell by the wayside this week.

There are dozens of blog posts I haven't read yet. *gasp* Sorry!

I even bribed three people into giving me blog awards this past week (insert Miss America wave here) so I had to go sell at a craft fair yesterday to make up for it.

Sorry, what was that? How did it go, you ask?

*clearing throat*

Dear Craft Fair... er, people,

I understand that it was your first time doing this and didn't want to pay for good advertising, (cou*tight wads*gh) but I am just a little miffed.

Yes, miffed.

I barely made enough to cover what I paid for a booth spot. But my five-year old daughter made bank selling 25 cent cookies. Was it because she still has her baby teeth? A cute button nose? Blue eyes?Pigtails? Because I could do pigtails next time if that's what it takes. I'm not afraid.

I refuse to believe it was because the cookies were only 25 cents. I think it was the pigtails. Maybe I'll put her in charge of selling everything next time.

At least you sat me by some cool people so I had someone to talk to and saved me the embarrassment of falling asleep and drooling all over my business cards. After all, I did only get three hours of sleep preparing for your craft fair.

Not that I'm trying to make you feel guilty. But if you do, it's all on you man.

But don't mind me! Worry about my poor husband. When the craft fair was over I told him I was exhausted as I dozed on the couch and absolutely refused to make dinner. After he brought home pizza, I stayed up till midnight finishing a book. But that's beside the point here.

I just wanted to humbly implore you to work on your advertising skills next time.

Your still very poor and desolate vender,
Serene

*sigh* In the words of the famous Molly Brown, "Oh it's not the money I love Pa, it's not having it hate!"

ANYWAY, with my husband out of town, my brother living with us for the week....zzzzz.... the kids cleaning the house and the crafts magically making themselves, I just lounged in a bed with a cup of warm, liquid milk chocolate, while getting a massage and read books all day.....zzzzzz.... *snort* Huh? Oh sorry, was I talking in my sleep?

Eh hem, awkward.

I just wanted to apologize profusely if you feel I have abandoned you, for I have not. It was just kind of insane week and I fell behind. Now if only my behind would fall off, I'd be set.

Hahaha... what? I thought it was clever.

And now, for a dramatic change in topic, after reading all the comments left on my last post about who wants/wanted more kids, the man, or the woman of the family, I have become curious. So I hope you'll vote on the poll over there in the left-hand corner.

Remember, the truth will set you free.

I know, so poetic.

If I had to go to a craft fair, I would have bought 25 of those cookies. Maybe it was just all the husbands that were dragged along by their wives that were buying the cookies?

I love it when my wife refuses to make dinner so I "have" to go get pizza.

More kids? I am happy with my three. Some days I wonder if I can return them. It just keeps getting better and better when your son runs his friend home at 1 AM in his noisy car that woke up the neighbors across the street (who asked me about it at church today). Not only that, my son texts his other friend and he comes over at 2 AM. Yep. The door woke me up and said son got a talkin' to today.

Oh Serene sounds like you had a crazy weekend! Have to admit it, I'd be buying cookies from your cute little pigtail girl too. I can't resist lemonade stands and bake sales from little ones. I'm a huge sucker!

Hope you get some rest!

Oh my GOODNESS, I hate that!!! I've done 2 or 3 craft fairs that were TOTAL bombs and the booth rent well exceeded $150-$200. NOT WORTH IT! And I was fuming afterwards for driving so far, spending so much, leaving my family, and investing on such CRAP functions. Blah. I learned---NEVER do craft fairs that haven't been going for 5 years of more. NOT worth it!`

I wish I had one of those cookies right now! (I was so busy yesterday that I never shopped for dessert. And I like my dessert on Sundays.)

=)

PS. Sorry your craft show was a bust. Better luck next time!

We once thought it would be cool to open a permanent booth at our local flea market....zzzzzzzz.

Sorry the fair didn't work out.

Idid your poll, but wanted to tell you really how it goes in my house. I think he would want more kids than I would, but he always says "we'll see how each pregnancy goes" or "however many you want, honey. You're the one pumping them out." I'm lucky I think. That or he just knows I'm stubborn enough to get my own way.

hahah, cute kids can sell everything. I was following Kent to a furniture store on Saturday when he abruptly pulled off to the side of the road and told me we HAD to go back and buy lemonade from the kids on the side of the street. What? I didn't even see them. One buck for two cups of lemonade. Lucky kids. Kent's a sucker.

I do believe the CRAFT/Farmer's markets up here in Kalispell...is done differently...They get a percentage of what YOU MAKE...I don't think you have to pay for a spot...If that is the case...you can come up here...and see how you do...I LOVE going to them!!! They will begin...sometime this MONTH...(they close for the winter)

Serene, I have missed you BUT I don't know how you do it all. I'm still trying to recover from YOU making 14 loaves of bread!

I hope you did OK at your craft fair.

Love ya!

I was there and I bought 4 cookies. Want to know how she sold them? She came up, batted her eyes and asked me 5 times if I would buy cookies from her. How can you say no to that? I didn't even eat one! My husband told her yesterday thanks for the cookies and she was so shy and giggly.

Oh and then her and her friend tried to sell me suckers after...they are good.

Yea I was feeling a little ignored but I will forgive you because it was a sucky craft fair. Yea maybe you should wear pigtails next time.

Oh, yeah, let her sell next time!

Stopping in to welcome you to SITS!

I asked Steve how many kids he wanted and he replied, "How do I know? I haven't had any yet to help me decide."

So... Not really sure where that fits in with your poll, but there you go. :)

Sometimes life happens and we must neglect something that we really enjoy. Of course when that happens I encourage my husband to pick up Cafe Rio. Yummmmm....
