It's a thing of beauty.

The simple truth of the matter is, I have come here today to show off.

It's true. The natural man in me totally overpowered the humble woman. Mostly because I haven't been working out and I have really wimpy arms. I've never once been able to accomplish a whole pull-up before, and I'm not talking about the diaper version. Maybe if I was a strong as Joseph here, I would not have given in.

And so I must boast of my exploits, receive the praise of others, and feel validated for my efforts.

Because Luke was so busy yesterday he didn't get a chance to do that. And I forgive him because I think he's sexy when he works hard.

You see, it all started when some friends who were going out of town, asked if I would freeze some boxes of fruit that they didn't have time to take care of before they left. They also gave me three boxes full of produce. So I've been freezing, cooking, and eating fresh produce like crazy these past couple of days.

But with all the zucchini and bananas that were dueling over counter space, they were getting pretty bruised up. (Haha, get it? You know what, forget you ever read that.) I figured the best way to make them come to terms with their differences was to make them similar. And what better way to do that than to turn them both into bread!

And that's how it started.

So, four loaves of zucchini bread,

four loaves of whole wheat bread,

four loaves of white bread (first time ever trying the recipe. Very soft, looks bad, but tastes great!)

and three loaves of banana bread later,

I have fourteen loaves of homemade bread sitting on my counter top, because only one has had the pleasure of being devoured so far.

Do you know, I was even going to make crackers yesterday? But since I got caught up in finishing a book I was reading, well, I just didn't have enough time to do both.

Maybe I'll have a cracker day where I just make a bunch of different types of crackers!

Maybe....

The truth is, I think I would be much more willing to make things from scratch if I didn't have to deal with the cooking consequences.

BEFORE:
AFTER:

Ah dang. I forgot to wipe down the fridge. The kiddy fingerprints are relentless! Especially since the kids love to draw water pictures on it.

Isn't this the part where I get to sit one the couch, watch movies while eating bon bons all day? Oh wait... I still have little monkey's to take care of. That's okay though, when they're this cute,

I usually don't mind.

For days I've been thinking how much I would really love to have homemade bread. I make bread... often, actually. But I haven't had it in me as of late. I just want to be able to enjoy the bread, without making the effort. Selfish, I know.

Can I just tell you though, how much I wish we were neighbors right now? Cause I'd find a way to make it into your kitchen... even if it required begging.

How do you do it all? You MUST be superwoman to accomplish baking 14 loaves of bread, clean, and take care of the monkeys! I'm totally impressed and hating you at the same time. Casseroles...breads...crackers... if you ever need someone to share with, just let me know! ;)

You are truly a super hero! Love the bread. It looks amazing. I just froze nine bananas this morning that were too ripe to eat. That way, I can make a few loaves when I get time. Hopefully this weekend. Great pics too!

That's a LOT of bread and it all looks wonderful. Baking bread is one thing I'd love to learn to do well. Your kitchen looks very similar to mine, but without the delicious smell of fresh bread.

You won the jewelry giveaway on my blog. Please email me your address ValerieFM at sfcn . org and I can send it out to you. Congrats!
