Oh, I am SOOOOO going to be there!!!

Okay, I admit it. When they first announced it, I didn't give it a second glance. I knew it wasn't for me without even looking.

As time passed, I started to receive more and more announcements about it, which I still continued to blow off. But then I started noticing the buttons on everyone's blogs proudly displaying "I'm going!"

They weren't business blogs, or even famous blogs where thousands of readers flocked to everyday. They were just, well, casual blogs, like mine!

So I took a look at the announcement again, "Casual Bloggers Conference" in Sandy, Utah, May 28 - 29. Then I started to investigate what it was REALLY about and what would be available.

Huh, that sounds like a whole lot of fun actually!

Then I REALLY wanted to go. Bad.

That's when I tried to concoct a master plan as to how I could ask my husband if I could go.
Clean house?
Totally yummy meal?
Put on extra mascara and bat my eyes?

I was going to do it all too.

But in the end, I was in a frumpy sweater, jeans with big holes in the knees, and no mascara in sight.

And I asked slowly and sweetly, could I go?

I tried my best not to jump for joy on the bed and throw pillows around when he said I could, as that would be totally unlady like.. *cough*... er, where was I? Oh yes.

So I am happy to announce that I'M GOING!!!

I'm totally pumped!

So, you need to check who's speaking HERE, and what the agenda is HERE and all other info links and when you decide that you should go, because no matter what kind of blog you have, or whether you have a blog or not, you'll want to come, just click on the nifty little button just below and sign up!

Casual Bloggers Conference

They have tickets on sale until the March 31st and they are going fast so be sure to sign up! And if you do, you'll be my e-BFF. "E" being "eternal" of course.

I know you want to.

What girl (or guy) doesn't need a night (or two) out!

P.S. To all you others out there going and have written your fears about meeting people in real life and having them discover that you just might not be as cool as your blog, can I just say, OH GREAT! and THANKS A LOT!

I didn't even think of that! I was excited about meeting everyone else, I didn't stop to think that would require them having to meet me too!

And since I've been told by more than one person that I come off as snobby as a first impression (although for the life of me I have no idea why! Was it my shoes? My lip gloss?) now I'm afraid I'll come back having everyone think I'm a big, fat snob!

*sniff* I promise I'm not!

When I asked my hubby I got shot down before I could even get out of the gate. *pout*

Glad you get to go though! I would be scared to meet everybody too! Good luck!

Yay! Oh yay yay yay! I just paid my money and signed up a few days ago, and immediately started feeling uber-neurotic about the whole thing. I'm so excited that you're going too, because a) I'll get to meet you *in real life* and b) because then maybe I'll have someone to hang with...

I'm so super excited that you're going!

I think I'm a little too far away. And if any of you wonder if Serene is as cool as her blog, she's not. She's WAY more awesome! :-)

Have fun preparing for it! (How does one prepare for that? Blog more? Act more casual?)

Oh, that looks like fun! Loralee's a speaker! Have you seen her latest post (http://www.blogher.com/hey-jealousy-blogigng-kind-course?from=nethed)? I loved it.

I was worried that it might be a Mormon-y type thing, which obviously wouldn't work for me, because it is co-hosted by MMB, but it looks pretty mainstream. I have some bloggy friends down in SLC. If I could tear myself away from my seed-starting and goat-milking, I would make a trip off it.

I would love to go, I'm going to have to do some serious thinking about it.
It would be fun to get some autographs.

Well to me you do not come off snobby or anything like that...I say the person who said that is just jealous......but it did sound like you had to ask permission from your husband to go to the conference. Oh wait you would be leaving him with 5 kids...so I guess you would have to let him know. Enjoy the conference everyone!

Thanks Lisa, I really appreciate that! And yes, when you have a bunch of little ones involved, it takes both of you to work things out.

Brae: Just click on the nifty little green and white box that says, "see you there!" and it should take you right where you need to go!
And it will be fun! I'm stoked!

I love your blog and still love reading it every day. When I met you years ago when my sister became a Mormon, I never thought of you as snobby. Shy a little but never snobby. :) How could anyone every think you were a snob, I think you are funny, intelligent and beautiful. All of your sisters and brothers are a wonderful family!

Sarah Larsen said...

Oh I wish I could attend! I even live in Utah!! I'm hoping I might win a ticket or something. And snobby? Seriously? I couldn't see that. Although I've gotten that before- until people get to know me I guess. It's probably because you're cute. :)

I am thinking about going. Saying you'll be my e-BFF makes it oh so tempting.

So glad you get to go!!! Moms are definitely happier when we have a fun break once in a while. I'm not going, but have heard of a LOT of people who are. It sounds like so much fun and I'm sure you'll share it all on your blog so we can hear about!

It'll be nice to meet you there. I'm beginning to think that "snobby" should just be redefined as "too shy to talk to strangers easily."

I'm going too! Hopefully we can meet. I can't imagine you being snobby AT ALL! But if you are, I'll tell you :)
See you in a few days.
