You probably don't care, but I'm writing about it anyway, so there.

I accomplished something "huge" yesterday and didn't even have the sense to realize it until today.

While out getting my husband's Christmas present on Saturday, I decided it wouldn't hurt to go look at some red shoes I fell in love with. But the store had been sold out of my size last time. Because after I posted about those red heels I found online, they sold out of my shoe size too! I got a lot of requests asking about the website so, fess up! Who bought out all my shoes? Is there some kind of conspiracy going on?

But I digress.

Unfortunately the store was clean out of my red shoes. And I became depressed. But since chocolate wasn't readily available, I did the second best thing I could think. I decided I should be a little more responsible in my winter footwear and went over to inspect the boots since I am slowing learning that tromping through snow in flip flops isn't the best of ideas . Upon finding some, I realized that with the buy one get one free deal they had going on, I could get other pair of shoes!

My eyes fell upon these delicious black heels. I tried them on. They were tall alright, but I loved them. After staring at them for about half an hour, I faltered. I got them.

I wore them to church yesterday. They were a little more tricky to walk in than my other shoes, especially while balancing a baby on my hip.

One gal even commented on how cute my shoes were but would never be able to walk in them. So I told her the secret to wearing high heels.

Walk with you hips first. Yup, that's it! Push your hips forward and don't be afraid to walk on the heel. That's what they're there for.

Anyway, I got to wondering how tall they were so I just measured them.

5.5 inches. Its true. I now own a pair of five and a half inch heels. I have reached new heights! No pun intended... well, maybe just a little one.

I generally don't go for peep toe shoes as my "second is longer than my first toe" dilemma comes into play. My second toe pokes its round little head through the peep toe opening in an attempt to squelch the big toe. It tends to look very strange.

But what can I say? I love them. When I wear them I become about 6 feet tall. The weird thing is, I don't even care.

Although, Alayna did laugh at me. A lot.

"Haha. Oh mom, you are so weird!"

"No, seriously, you are weird."

"Oh, you're taking pictures? Well then, CHEESE!"

Love the shoes! Recently I counted how many pairs I had acquired and it was embarrassing. So I stopped counting :)

I TOTALLY care about posts like this!! Those are hot, sassy heels. I am *almost* 5'1", and have therefore always worn heels. Even pregnany, since I don't get swollen ankles. I have people tell me all the time they like my shoes but could never where them. I never know what to say, except to tell them that at my height, I HAVE to wear heels. Now I'll tell them to walk with their hips forward!

p.s. sorry you didn't get your red shoes.

LOL, well, I'm almost 5'7" so I probably have no business wearing such high heels but, I don't care anymore. I love them!

Sarah, good for you for getting the sensible boots AND the sexy heels! At almost 6'1" barefoot, I don't like wearing heels that often. But there's just something about a great pair that make you feel better about yourself! Personally I can't wear anything bigger than a 3.5" heel as my feet start to hurt and will continue to hurt for the next 48 hours. So good for you!!!

Well, being 5'11" barefoot and my husband is only 1" taller than I, I will still wear heels. In fact I am at work wearing my favorite boots that have a 4.5" on the heel. When I use to go to clubs downtown with friends to dance I would wear 5-6" heels for 8 hours. If models can do it why can't I. AJ prefers that I do not wear the really high heels out with him. LOL

OK...I feel out of sync, here...In high school, when I had "good-looking athletic looking legs"...I wore HEALS on occasion...I must admit...I didn't mind showing off the only asset I had going for me...But, ONCE I became a MOTHER (hmmm..I guess even BEFORE I was a mother)...I have LIVED either...barefoot, sandals, or FLATS...In fact, I love feeling SHORT...HUH? you say? Yes, because...I am around 5'2" - 5'3"...and when I stand next to my big 6'2" man in my life...I feel...like I am a "princess" next to my "KNIGHT"...Now, don't get me wrong...never under-estimate the POWER that is contained in this "little package" (hmmm....short package)...(smile)
