It wasn't my fault! Honest it wasn't!

No blog posts for a week. I couldn't stop it from happening.I totally got sucked in! Suddenly half the books I requested from the library came available and I told myself I would read just a little bit.

(cough) Well... er, due to my extreme lack of self-control, I'm afraid that's all I did on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday. Well, that and clean. My parents, a brother, and newly-wed sis and her hubby were coming to spend Thanksgiving here with us. When I wasn't reading, I was cleaning. When I wasn't cleaning, I was reading.

Fabelhaven by Brandon Mull, and The O'Malley Series by Dee Hendersen, if you must know. They rank up there on my four out of five stars list. But don't come after me if you don't like them!

So there you have it. I slacked, I caved, I scraped the bottom of the excuse pile. And now, as a peace offering, I will share with you Savannah's prize winning, top secret... even though its in print, Pumpkin Pie recipe.

Now, I haven't actually tried it yet but uh, let me know how it works out for you!

In the meantime, while I sort out and swim through the sea of Thanksgiving photos, just know that there is absolutely nothing out of the ordinary going on around here.

Nothing at all.

I LOVE kids' recipes! That is hilarious! How do you get something to cook at 6 or 7 degrees, by the way? :)

Stir for 60 days. I love it. I must try one day. Especially with the gallons of cinnamon. Do they sell them in gallon size? :-)

I don't think there are too many reasons to be ashamed that one has spent time reading. Some reasons, but not when it's everyone else's vacation time and you need some for yourself, too. I'm glad I got to go to a home where staying all morning in bed while reading was not looked upon as rude or wasting time! :-)

I love those pictures.

I remember when my children's classes have done similar projects with the children's recipes. So fun!!

I love blogging and reading blogs, but love the real world too so I'm glad you got to clean, read and spend time with family. :)

I think I've seen this day. No wait. I only lived it. Where is her sheepish grin? Sam sports one, then runs for it with the paper in hand leaving a guilty trail.

Children recipe books are my favorite! I want to give my overly-practical interpretation:
1. Scrape out the pumpkin, seeds, and stringies.
2. Freeze it?
3. Add the important ingredients. Drown out all possible trace of pumpkin taste. Leave no doubt.
4. I can't stop laughing about the 60 days. This recipe is very labor intensive.
5. Freeze it again. Make sure it's freezer burnt.
6. Eat it (maybe?).
As children, my siblings and I made cookies. We measured out high volumes of ingredients and added a few extras (like pepper). They were so good, we hid the several batches in our bedroom closet until we could get rid of the evidence.

I LOVE Alayna's "innocent" brown eyes looking at you...as she stands in the midst of "trouble"...(smile)She is absolutely ADORABLE!!!! Going through withdrawals...being away from all of you...but, knowing the trip wasn't so bad...getting from HERE to YOUR HOUSE!!!! (smile)Means...we are more apt do it more in the future...! (smile) Provided that the WEATHER is NOT A PROBLEM!!!! Some wicked passes to go through...if there was snow and ice on the roads!!!!
