Three Weeks

The boys are playing in the garage (probably with something they're not suppose to), Savannah is in the living room playing with her imaginary friends (something about a Princess dying and having to have a Prince kiss her to bring her back to life), and Alayna just went down for a nap.

I'm sitting here at my computer with my fuzzy pink slippers on, a long sleeve shirt and a sweater on, with my nice warm cup of hot chocolate (but I've been having flu-like symptoms all morning so, I'm just trying to keep it from coming back up).

Its freezing outside and I protest! I do not like it, I am very upset. I vote for a winter that never gets below 50 degrees... ever.

Anyway, yesterday was Alayna's three week surgery anniversary. So, according to the doctor, all her visible swelling should be gone. And I think it is. She has her first check-up next Tuesday.

The doctor told us to get something called "Scar Guard" to put on her cut. It looks like a little bottle of nail polish. It has a brush like nail polish, and it dries hard like nail polish. It looks awful, like she has a bunch of peeling skin or a paste on her head. But its suppose to be amazing for scars so we'll faithfully keep putting it on.

She is 8 months old now and unbelievably smart and observant. I am always amazed at how intelligent they are at so young an age.

One of her favorite hang-out spots is the bookcase. (I think she's secretly reading all the titles but can't let us know she has superpowers yet)

She has to be involved in EVERYTHING the other kids are doing. If they go out and jump on the trampoline, she has to go too. If they go outside to play, she hangs out by the door and bangs on it. If one of them has to use the bathroom, she follows them in and waits till they're done. Whatever toy or game they're playing with, she has to play too. If they go downstairs, she hangs out by the railing until they come back up.

She is the ever faithful sidekick.

She watches everybody and everything.

One of may favorite things she does is if you get down on the floor she'll come charging over and give you a "head love". She bend her head down and touch her head to yours. I love it. And when she gets tired she'll crawl over, put her head down and roll over into you.

She is getting just a bit of a sassy streak and is learning to fight for what she wants. Of course, if she feels wronged in any way she cries and looks at me like, "Well come on mom, you need to right this terrible wrong!" Haha.

But what can I say, they're so fun and she is doing SO, so well. If it wasn't for the big zigzag cut across her head, you'd never know she had surgery at all.

It's an amazing age we live in.

Her scar doesn't look too bad in the pictures, and it is still fresh. I think it will fade really well. The surgeon did an awesome job. I'm so happy that she is doing so well and is still so much fun. She is a cutie, that is for sure.

Oh, I love this--all of it. Every picture. The video. The update. The things she does. I'm trying not to pick favorites--but she is just so cute and adorable!!! :-) OK. The other kids are pretty cute, too. It's the genes.

I hope you don't get sick, too. Feel better!
