More and More....

Here I go again, being all homemaker-ish. Do you think its curable?

I FINALLY got around to making Mock Jam using green tomatoes. I made a batch of raspberry and a batch of strawberry flavored jam.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that you would never know the difference. The taste is a tad different. But I can see how when you eat it with something you would probably never know the difference.

I know, I know. (sigh) I'm just so accomplished.

How's my tomato mountain doing? Well thanks for asking.

Tada!

HA! Tricked ya. I still have PLENTY left despite all the ones we've recently given or thrown away. And no, the four-wheeler in the background is not ours, as much as the kids wish it was.

But I can see why people look for jars at D.I. or any other used items store. It can get pricey to buy enough bottles to take care of your garden produce. And next year we hope to be able to have enough berries to freeze, bottle, and make jam with.

I'm starting to think I should request bottles for Christmas!

Okay, so Luke, even though I told him not to just yet "but you know how men are. They think no means yes and get lost means take me I'm yours" (name that movie!), went out and pulled up some of our carrots.

These are my favorites so far. Do you think maybe our ground is cursed?

For some reason they strangely remind me of my toes. Hmmm.... Could be all those long toe jokes my in-laws like to crack.

Personally, I think they're all just jealous that my second toes is longer than my first. Yup, that's what it is, pure jealousy.

Wouldn't you say?

I'm glad the mock jam turned out well. I was a little worried considering I'd never tried it myself. It looks good! And in spite of the sugar, it has Vitamin C. :-)

I don't know if I know or have seen the movie, but it sounds like a modern version of a Elizabeth turning down Mr. Collins. I love the carrots. You could do some kind of carrot art with them.

In apology for not getting the other tomato recipes I'd mentioned, I'm emailing you sites that have more tomato ideas. Enjoy!

I would like to say a word in defense of your carrots and your toes. Crazy carrots are my favorite kind. As a kid, I loved to find the ones with the coolest shapes from our garden. I like the one in the middle best. And now a word about toes. I have always thought I have perfect feet because my mom always told me I do. My second toe is longer than my big toe on one foot but not the other. Your toes are probably okay too.

Heidi: Thanks for recipe, it really did turn out good.

And nope on the movie. But I'll give you a hint. Think kid movie.

Katie: LOL! I love it! I was always told that having your second toe longer than your first means you are super smart. =)

Hmmm. The only thing that comes to mind is "Swan Princess"--though I know the quote isn't from there. It's that the quote for whatever reason reminds me of "You should write a book--'How to insult women in 5 words or less.'"

What does a middle toe shorter than the other 9 mean? Now I'm curious to know what your toes look like! So many people worry over their feet and toes, and I've only ever seen 2 or 3 where I found myself agreeing with them. :-)

Is there something wrong with your second toe being longer than the first? lol Mine is! I was always told growing up that those whose 2nd toes are longer than their first are natural born leaders. Almost everyone in my family has it! As for David's side of the family. They joke that their feet were born to wear flip-flops. Everyone, including my kids, have a gap between their 1st toe and their second. You totally can't see it when flip flops are on. You could see it on my kids the day they were born!

Way to go super-mom!

I have bunions on my feet. I think that has no good connotation except that you have old people feet. But maybe I'll re-interperet that to mean having bunions is a sign that you are full of wisdom.

Michelle: LOL! I love that! "Natural born leaders". And you know, with all the flip flops I wear, I'm surprised my toes haven't seperated!

YEA CAMI! Sorry Heidi, but Cami got it.

Brittany: I agree. Where does all the wisdom go when your brain is too full? To your feet! LOL!

Oh, OK. I don't feel bad about that then. I've only seen Hercules once. I usually have to see a film 3 or 4 times before quotes stay in my mind.

No doesn't mean yes??
We have a whole bunch of bottles someone dumped into our garage. If only there were a way to transport some of them up.
