Crazy Hair Day

While I could very easily be talking about myself, I'm not. I'm talking about Savannah. Its "crazy hair day" at school today and she couldn't have been more excited about it.

I did my best, I really did. But as you can see, hair styling is not a strong point of mine. I am completely incapable to getting pigtails even.

But who cares right? After all, it IS crazy hair day! Well, I care! I try but the part in her hair is never straight, her pigtails, no matter how hard I try, are NEVER, EVER even.

You would think someone who has a degree in the understanding of dimensions and negative space would be able so get those dang pigtails straight.
But alas, my children... correction, my girls must suffer for my disastrous shortcoming.
Well, I guess Alayna won't have to worry about the humiliation for a while.

But really, is there some magic trick that gets taught somewhere about how to get pigtails straight? Some secret book that gets circulated through the cool mommy club?

Because right now, I'm feeling very left out.

It's sad to think I had crazy hairstyles on innumberable non-Crazy Hair days. (Like my Princess Leia hairstyle in 1st grade...) A blessing and a curse, my hair is. Personally, I don't think pigtails or ponytails (why always animals?) could ever possibly be straight. But, then, I didn't care that much if they ever were, so...

I think you did a great job with her hair. And I love Alayna's smile!

So cute that they have that for the kids! The only question I have is - what do the boys do? I would imagine they could go without washing it but I'm thinking that may actually be the norm. :)

If there is such a club, I'd never be allowed in! I am horrible at doing anything to my girls' hair (or my own!). All their friends have cute braids or do's and I just pull it back in a ponytail.

I am sadly to blame for your lack of "hair" talent, Sarah...though, you have perfected the art...MUCH BETTER than I ever did...(Alas,my guilt is slowly fading...as I watched you girls take care of each other while you were growing up...)(Hmmm..Bekah being an exception...My little grandbabies are at her mercy...for they look like little aliens from another planet when she is done with them) (smile) I was one of those mothers...with 4 DAUGHTERS...and never could do those fancy french braids or anything...However, I did make "cute" hand-made hair pieces for the girls when they were growing up! (smile) Does that count...toward "mommyhood" in the hair catagory?

Look how excited Savannah is! Looks like you passed the hair thing with flying colors.
