Teaching Them

For Family Home Evening last night, we decided to teach the kids what testimonies were and help them learn how to share one.
After dicussing that a tesimony is given to us by the Holy Ghost and that it is something we feel, Luke and I both bore our testimonies to the kids. We then asked Savannah if she would like to share hers. Her testimony went something like this,

"I know that the Holy Ghost tells us in our hearts, and that Jesus loves me... and I will be pregnant when I grow up and get married. Umm, and that Jesus wants me to be happy and we should be nice. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."

5 super cool people speak:

Haha.. the pregnant part cracks me up. I believe it was Savannah, Elly, and Kate who set up their own testimony meeting one Sunday in our nursery class. They said their little testimonies to each other about Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost, and being pregnant was also in there! It was totally cracking me and Kent up! They even set up chairs for their meeting in a little semi-circle and they all wanted to conduct the meeting. Adorable.

I think you need to teach in which order they should be. ;)

Precious! You can see that she wants to emulate you... A little guy in our Primary last week finished his little talk and then said, "Now, I want to bear my testimony." He stood very still and silent for a looooong time. All of the children hushed respectfully and expectantly. After several minutes he finally said, "In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."

No words necessary!

I LOVE IT!!! Savannah was simply letting you know...that one day YOU are going to be a GRANDMA!!! (smile)Seriously, though, this is when you teach them...to LISTEN to the HOLY GHOST...It may save their lives one day...in more ways than one...I was 7 years old...not a member of the church...but, I found myself in a VERY SERIOUS situation in a PARK...and this strange man wanted me to follow him....away from the park...But, in my mind...I was told EXACTLY what I needed to do...I picked up my baby brother, as cool as I could...and said...that I needed to go home, now...For some reason, he didn't follow me...of force me to go with him...I went home (several blocks away) told my mother...and she called a detective friend of the family...He took it from there...The HOLY GHOST has been MY FRIEND, long before I understood who He was...
