Florida Happiness

GREAT NEWS!! My foot is NOT broken! Wahoo! And how do I know such a thing? No, no doctor told me. I used my own genius to deduce this since I can now hobble on it without feeling like a big fat cow stomped on it. That must mean my foot is not broken.

Good thing, I'm wearing heels tomorrow.

But thanks so much everyone for all the concern and advise.

So, the airport. I did feel quite silly being wheeled around everywhere. Especially when the lady pushing me had to turn around and wheel me backwards down any kind of slope (Its policy in case the wheelchair escapes and sends the person sitting in the chair on one wild and potentially painful ride, and it HAS happened before.) and I had to smile and look at the people walking behind us. But wait, it gets better... well, for me anyway.

While waiting in line, a man approached me and asked if I was traveling alone. Well, it was already awkward to have people looking down at me, and my wrapped foot, and Alayna who is so cute she would attract attention anyway, but now that this guy was talking to me it just attracted even MORE attention.

After a second I finally said that I was and then he asked if I wanted to switch seats with him and he showed me his boarding pass. It said seat 6C. Then he asked to see mine. It said seat 30C.
He was very nice and said that it looked like I needed it more than he did and he would still have an aisle seat. I thought about it a second then thought it would be nice not to have to hop down to the back of the plane so, after making absolutely sure the guy didn't mind, I agreed.

But it wasn't until they announced that they were boarding First Class and they started to wheel me on that I realized that my new seat was in First Class! Who does that these days? If I had known it was up there I never would have agreed to take his seat in the first place.
Apparently I've been flying Southwest too long. I'd forgotten First Class even existed! I had a nice hot dinner and a free movie and space. It made the 4 hour direct flight go so much faster.

I wish there had been a better way to say thanks then just, well, uh, "thank you so much!"

After we landed I was wheeled out and up the walkway then left there at the door while the guy went back to help someone else. But after sitting there for almost 10 minutes I decided to would just balance the baby and the diaper bag and wheel myself.
Just then, this little old lady come off the plane and stops to ooh and ahh at Alayna. She realized that I was just sitting there waiting so she plunked her bag into my lap and started pushing me towards baggage claim.

Okay, now I really felt bad. Me, being pushed around in a wheelchair by an old lady? Does anyone else see the irony in this?

Two of my brothers were there to pick me up and by the time we got home it was about 1am local time.

But now for the main attraction, my crazy sister and her soon-to-be hubby.

Let's just say there had been a lot of love in this house. Engaged couple, just started dating couple, and after a month separation and now reunited couple.

Icky.

But Alayna has been getting to know cousins and aunts and uncles she hasn't met yet.

Here's all of us married sisters with our kiddos. Hmm, do you think we look alike? Yes, I suppose we do. Can't escape that association now can we.

Uncle Caleb

Well, naturally today was the day for wedding preparations. Of course this included nails! Duh!So, me and my three sisters, my mom, and my engaged sister's best friend all went out and got manicures and pedicures. It really was quite fun.
Engaged sis.
Massage chairs while getting pedicures? Oh ya, its a nice combo.
My cute older sister, preggo with number two.

Little sis and me getting beautified.

Mom in progress. (sigh) We just couldn't seem to convince her to leave her nails like that. I know! So odd. I just don't understand why she wouldn't do it.

After we were done getting beautified we made a quick stop at Target. The girls actually made me get one of those riding carts. It was better than a wheelchair. I got to drive AND it beeped when I had to back-up. Now all I needed was a sign, "WIDE LOAD"!
Engaged sis took my crutches.
And here we are, trying to find cute matching earrings.

Then we had a bachelorette party!!! Okay, so not really, but we did go out for lunch.
(Sis' best friend, youngest sis, older sis, me, mommy, engaged sis)
And right there in the restaurant, we took pictures of our beauty. Can you tell which hand is mine? Yup, right there!
Pish... fine, I'll give you a hint. Look by the phone....

And of course you can't forget the cute toes. If you can't tell which foot is mine either I'll give you another hint.
You can see my jeans and I am by my mom who is NOT wearing flip flops.

At least they didn't kick us out for weirdness!
Well, lots to do. I'll write more later!

I love the pictures. I'm so glad you're home. Have fun with the family, especially tomorrow. And I would suggest NOT wearing heels. Are you crazy?! I don't think the pain is worth that. :-) And I love the image of the old lady pushing you in the wheelchair. Thanks for the laugh.

You do look like your sisters. It took me a while to figure out why you were kissing that guy that does not look like Luke...
It is so nice to know that there are good, generous people out there. I wonder if I would be generous enough to give up a first class seat to a woman and baby in a wheelchair.

Wow! I can't get over the generosity of that man. It is so good to hear that these days. I started thinking about my wedding and just realized that my older sister (who has never broken a bone in her body) broke her arm a few days before my wedding! She was rollerskating.

Yay! Congratulations to your sis! I wish I could see you while you're in FL, but I'll have to settle for existing in the same state... Hope you have a blast, and it sounds like you already are. It's always fun to get together with family.
