Taste Test

Curiosity is a curious thing, and kids have it in abundance. A seemingly simple task becomes a quest of discovery which most often does not end very well.

Task: Wash your hands.

Sometimes teaching this to your kids can be a nightmare. Either they want to, or they don't! And they'll let you know which one it is.
Joseph had just used the bathroom. So, after running out naked and informing me of the fact, I asked him to go back and wash his hands.
A few minutes pass and I figure he was just playing in the water or something. Soon, however, I hear him spitting, a lot. While this is not uncommon for him, I figured I had better see what he was up to.
When I first entered the bathroom, his face was down in the sink. Then he lifted his head, and if I hadn't known any better, I would have guessed he had rabies and was foaming at the mouth. In his cupped hand he held a whole lot of light blue liquid soap.
It was quite apparent that Joseph had been taste testing... again.
If Joseph could read I might have guessed that it was the phrase "Awake your senses" on the bottle that enticed to lap up the soap. But since he can't, I can only attribute it to the fact that it wanted to know what "Morning Dew" tasted like.
Curiosity is a curious thing.
Still, this is not his first soap eating experiment. If you care to read about it, click here!

What a funny kid! Maybe he'll end up being a scientist and with all his trial and errors discover something great!

Now that I know Joseph better, I was able to visualize the entire incident in full color! (smile) Kelly, I thought the same thing while I was in Idaho...Joseph's curiousity of seeing how things work...wanting to do everything himself, etc. I found him to be quite intelligent! Sarah, you will need an entire room for him to dedicate his time and energies to discovery...Just be prepared...to have incidents...of possible "explosions" due to "discovery" experiments...(smile)
