Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk

Whoever came up with that saying has obviously never had the delightful experience of swimming through your kitchen because there is a gallon of milk floating around on the floor.
It all started after a rather crazy trip to the grocery store. Normally I go late at night so I don't have to deal with the kids but we really needed something for dinner and Luke was still on campus so I ventured out to the store by myself with the kids. I guess it really wasn't too bad considering all that happened was the kids screamed hello to everyone we passed, fought for a short period of time, mostly Savannah screaming, "he's touching me mommy!" and the kids hanging out of the sides of that front part of the shopping cart, the part that looks like a car, while racing to see who could pull the most food off the shelves.
Anyway, I carried Jacob and two gallons of milk up the stairs to our apartment then herded the other two inside and gave Savannah instructions not to let Joseph open the door. So, I ran back to the car, grabbed some groceries then sprinted back up to the apartment.
As soon as I opened the door Savannah runs up to me half crying saying, "I made a mess mommy!" Well, that was an understatement! Savannah had tried to move one of the gallons and had dropped it, busting the corner and there was Jacob, gleefully splashing around in the milk with Joseph standing right on the edge of the white river screaming "mess!! mess!!" It was obvious that she had tried to clean it up by the solitary paper towel floating in the milk.
Now, I'm sure most of you would had loved to have seen a picture of this but I have to say that was the last thing on my mind as I waded through our kitchen to remove Jacob as he was helping to soak up the milk with his pants.
When Savannah was little I use to take pictures of all her messes; a whole box of cornstarch on the carpet, a banana squished into new pajamas, lipstick all over the quilt... things like that. Now, I just feel like locking the kids in their rooms so I don't have to follow them around with paper towels and a broom.
Anyhow, the moral of the story is, there are certain instances when crying over spilled milk is okay.

Wow Serene. That's a tough day. Just keep looking at those cute Easter pictures and remind yourself how cute they are! :) (Good job on those pictures, by the way.) Hope today goes better for you.

You gave me a great laugh with that one Serene. It was written well. I can barely manage Brooklyn in the store, I don't know how you did it with three. If you ever want to run to the store, I can watch your kids for you next time!

Things like that really do make you either laugh or cry, depending on the day. Weren't you just saying like two days ago how sick you are of cleaning up messes? I think you jinxed yourself! :)

You tell the story so well one can't help laughing at how cute it is. Sorry about the mess, though.

Hey lil sis... Great photos from Easter and thanks for sharing! Where was Luke again? Drying out his cell phone? ha ha ha! JK... I am not laughing about the milk though cause I have been there too! In the middle of the milk I mean.
Keep that beautiful smile on your face and have a good one.
Talk to you all later.
